I want to get into politics because I'm disgusted by the state of things and want to make a meaningful change. Though I hate our 2-party system I've realized that the only way to get elected is to join one or the other but both have rejected me.

Third parties never win. Even Rand Paul, one of the most famous Libertarians in the country, had to run as a Republican in order to win his seat.
