It's useless. Every Finn knows either Swedish or English

You'll be able to communicate with the NEETs on Jow Forums. In real life if you're going to Finland you are better off learning Swedish or just speaking English.

Complex and useless. Take a russian class instead. At least we have high-tier literature.

You'll never get good at it, and even if you do you'll never find yourself in a situation where you'll need to speak Finnish, as every Finn speaks either Swedish or English.

A very good suggestion actually.

Learn Haskell. Join Facebook. Earn money. Buy Finland. Change the language to English.

Learn japanese instead

rerorerorerorero

if you come here and try to speak finnish in your disgusting amerimutt accent we will kill you unless you are black

its useless

learn estonian, more useful

Learn Hungarian. More useful.

i never learned swedish. i just don't like the language. but coastal cities have quite a lot of swedish speaking folk. once you go just a little bit inner land, it's just finnish (or english). you'll easily survive in finland with just english. don't bother learning finnish if you're struggling or don't like it.

There is no need to talk you out of it, you'll realize what a stupid idea it is within a week or 2

>but coastal cities have quite a lot of swedish speaking folk
Hello Carl-Göran!
Only Åland has majority swedish speaking population.

pietarsaari says hello:
finnish 35,8 %
swedish 56,1 %
other 8,1 %

>Population 19 369
OH NONONO

Ingå, Jakobstad, Kimitoön, Korsholm, Kristinestad, Korsnäs, Kronoby, LArsmo, Malax, Nykarleby, Närpes, Pargas, Pedersöre, Raseborg and Vörå are all majority Swedish speaking

We don't kill you guys for speaking English in your ridiculous Finnish accent, though.

Good suggestion. I've considered learning russian just for the literature even though I don't like the language as such.

because our accent is based and the inferior can never kill the superior

Я yжe мoгy гoвopить нa pyccкoм языкe бpaт

Not American Pekka

All but two are in Northern Finland

that guy is either trolling or the minority who actually care about foreign accents. most of us are just amused to hear a non-finn speak finnish. and true, finns can't speak english for shit. the reason i've tried to better my pronounciation is because i fucking hate how crude we sound when trying to speak english. i will never believe someone who says they like the finnish accent. it's disgusting.

You said that only Åland has a majority speaking Swedish population. All the places I mentioned has a majority Swedish speaking population. Did you intentionally lie or were you unaware?

>pargas
>majority swedish speakers

This is outdated.

Кpacивo! Paз твoя жизнь пoзвoляeт пoтpaтить нecкoлькo тыcяч чacoв нa пoлyчeниe нepeлeвaнтнoгo, нo интepecнoгo тeбe нaвыкa, тo пoчeмy бы и нe выyчить финcкий, лoл.

and i never spoke anything of majorities, just that there are quite a lot of swedish speaking people in the coastal cities. damn dude you're being stupid.

>Officially, a municipality is bilingual if the minority language group consists of at least 8% of the population, or at least 3,000 speakers.[1]

Swedish is only majority in Åland and in some minor counties.

This is the result of the so called """Fenno""""-sw*des who apparently put their language over finnish interests and still call themselves finnish.

The municipality was bilingual, with the majority (54%) being Swedish and the minority (45%) Finnish speakers.

That wasn't me. I'm just saying, Swedish is a thing of the past in the southcoast. Swedish speakers are rapidly going extinct and we're better off without them.

Suomi on ihana kieli, opiskele sitä

Yeah, small towns and even there Swedish is declining.

This. The swedish rule over Finland is over and done for.
