The problem is that even if you wanted, you are pretty much unable to defend baltic states, especially Estonia and Latvia because their territories are in 100% covered by Russian A2AD and they can be cut off of the rest of NATO territory in minutes. The war is lost before it even begins in all possible wargame simulations. Should have thought about it before taking baltic states to the alliance...
