I am looking for more info about hardware wallets. I checked on Trezor, Ledger ,etc but I saw that Sky team is going to release a new Skycoin Hardware wallet.
Wanna now if you have more info about it? What is the difference between Skycoin wallet and rest of hardware wallet from Trezor, Ledger, etc?
WHICH ONE IS THE BIG ONE???

How’s the skycoin discord
most coins have an official wallet or a few recommended third-party wallets.. so prob you can choose from a few. plus the sky wallet has not been released yet
A major difference between this hardware wallet and Trezor, Ledger, etc, is that the Skycoin wallet is being developed to support an ecosystem and not just make a profit for the company. For the moment they presented the prototype which has a new design and new internals to match. I am pretty excited about it, remember I was reading that it will support all the Fiber coins.
You know, right, that if you want to get into crypto business, not necessarily you have to go for the hardware wallet?
If you are interested in SKY, just go their website and you can downloaded. Me personally I think it's much easier like this
Here: skycoin.net
The Sky hardware wallet will be able to hold any coin that is on the SkyLedger, and since BNB (binance coin) is going to be able to be used within skycoins ecosystem you would be able to store it as well. If that BNB coin is an erc20 token then we should be able to store any erc20 token
like bnb coins, since they just announced in their partnership, sky wallet is meant to storage and put bnb in circulation. every coin will end up here because it is possible to have a private blockchain
that's right, great minds think alike
this shit is so much needed. nothing is secure no more and I don t wanna go back to floppy disks. does it have a screen?
no idea, haven't seen the prototype yet... but trezor&ledger nano do have one.
seemed to have a screen. there were some photos posted on the Telegram community or skywug, forgot which one. i guess the screen is mandatory?
checked
Another difference might be the price, although they have to find a way to make it cheap. Those mentioned here are worth almost $100/// no way, I m not gonna pay 14 sky when i bought em at $30. Fokk it
Add it here I wanna see it, is that the final version of it? Any mention of the costs? Mb they ll organize a tombola and I can win it there
This is the prototype for the Skycoin hardware wallet. I would say that soon it will be out, lately they are having a lot of project going on, and the agreement with BNB should make them to hurry a bit. I give them a few months max for the release
I remember Synth was talking in one of the interviews that aren't away with the release. They finished developing the hardware, the case, and probably there is some work on the software.
I think the price for the Skycoin wallet they estimate is around 30$, which I would say is much more affordable than Trezor, Ledger, etc. Anyhow, I am still thinking if I will go with the hardware wallet. Seems that they are working pretty well now without it too. Depends also how many other projects they will release further.
>buying hardware wallets from people who "freeze" and "blacklist" funds
Didn't they just released 2-3 months ago the website wallet with new interface? Anyhow, you are right. I heard Skycoin prorietary hardware wallet are not expected to be more than 25$. Which is pretty cheap taken in consideration all the function and storage capacity has.
uuuu looking sexy af, who designed such thing? i saw today in another thread some pics of the antenna, also cool. do they take in freelancers?
subtle shilling from skycoin those days.
Medium-level pajeets shitting the streets, keep up the good work, you can do it !
brrr freezing wallet but is goin to protect it against remote attacks, are they gonna ship it directly to me? Cause man, heard some bad stories about malicious codes or replaced components. if I loose it, how can I find it?
Me too, I like a lot how it looks, and it was designed for skyledger exchange integration also. As far as I know in order to get released, the hardware should generate hash from the sigil and used as seed for deterministic wallet generation. I am looking forward for updates regarding the release day and what else new they bring with the device.
If you so afraid of losing it, go with the desktop version. I don't know what stories you heard, but it is common sense to be a bit more careful when you own a device, no? And most probably they will ship it to you, as with any other device.
is this embarrassing pajeeting unironically the famous sharkCIA-Marketing?
would get my money back if i was synth
why are they still working in this outdated hardware wallet when they can introduce a new better idea and even more aligned with their present futuristic image? like... a chip. there is enough technology developed in this direction so they can borrow a hybrid chip idea for storing the keys and other functions they have in mind
btw, whether it s a hardware or virtual wallet, only it it is a Sky official wallet allows you to accumulate Coin Hours, so beware. even if you got a third party wallet that accepts skycoins you re not gathering coin hours
here s a detailed description of how coin hours work.. i believe it s necessary to understand this if you hold a wallet and Sky coins
medium.com/skycoin/skycoin-coin-hours-f537fa7ae614
def we need coin hours, can be used to purchase bandwith and in games such as Kitty Cash, why not get some kitty collectibles basically for free?
>rakeesh talking to himself: the thread
ok so anyone holding SKY should check their wallets and make sure they purchase official ones. good to know!
