Why do so few French people come here for tourism or to study?
I hardly ever met or overheard any French people here while there’s heaps of Germans, Brits, Spaniards and Italians in our universities or simply visiting here.
Do the French have bad stereotypes about us?
French people
Came a few times with my parents as a kid
Friendly people but shit fries
Where do French people go?
Maybe all go to Belgium?
And are there any negative stereotypes about the Netherlands that go beyond the typical ‘stingy, rude, gigantic penises’?
>Friendly people but shit fries
Never change, france
We associate your country with really bland food, camping cars here in the summer and Amsterdam. Oh and small foamy beer
>gigantic penises
Is it a stereotype?
I just want to know why there’s so few of you here. Do people consider it generally un-interesting?
Don’t pretend it isn’t
>Tourism
There's not really a lot to see here. There's Amsterdam and that's it. Our government tries to shill the countryside really hard to Chinks but really, it's just Amsterdam. Which just means the Rijksmuseum, muh grachten, weed and hookers.
>or to study
Other than Delft (which is really specialized technical knowledge), what universities do we have that are so obviously preferable over others in Europe? Really, it's just Delft. Which is just engineering.
It's good to live here, but I don't see why anyone would want to visit when they have alternatives.
The French cuck fears and respects the DVTCH BVLL and his mighty penis.
I know this country is shit but that doesnt explain all the other people that come here such as Italians, Spaniards and Britons. Of course it makes more sense for Germans
Amsterdam probably, don't remember exactly where we visited.
I visited Belgium more than the Netherlands that's for sure. What's with dutch women showing their tits in public btw
I thought you were just known for your height
>Do the French have bad stereotypes about us?
no we don't
>Do people consider it generally un-interesting?
Yes, I would say so.
Never heard of that big dig stereotype though
You are tall and have a harsh language. That's pretty much it.
France already has pretty much everything so there's little incentive to go on holiday abroad
Do French people not leave France as often as other Europeans?
>Italians
>Spaniards
U wot m8? I guess for Brits the excuse is that it's closeby, cheap and dudeweedlmao.
They’re all over Amsterdam and you notice them a lot at my university (RUG).
I am in one of those Facebook groups where students look for rooms and they make up the majority of foreigners that post there. Meanwhile you hardly ever see a French person ask for a room.
I haven't seen the statistics, but I rarely go on holiday abroad
Historically french people never really left France, even during the big migrations wave to the new world.
Well the thing is nobody learns Dutch. I assume the classes there are in English anyway but you would have to advertise yourself as an English speaking destination to french students.
To my knowledge most people go on Erasmus to Spain, Italy, the UK or Canada
Do you think the Netherlands is a boring cultural void like Germany?
They go to Amsterdam for partying, and Rotterdam is known in the hard drug circles.
In Belgium they tend to stay in Brussels and in the french speaking parts, ase they tend to be notoriously bad in english. Also french like mountains and are obsessed with sunny beaches and latin countries, it's not about the dutch people but more like muh grey coldness and fast food. Thet don't go much in Germany or Scandinavia afaik.
It’s alright, I was just curious why it is. Since we know France mainly as a warm sunny country(despite 80% of you living in grey and cold just like us) so I didnt think you were as interested in Spain/Italy as we are
