ELN: Political representation but they are terrorists who have killed people in the past and virtually no one agrees to see them in congress or the senate. The vast majority of the population wants to see them in jail for life. People regard Santos (the Ex-president) as a traitor for giving Farc amnesty and seats in congress/senate, however the Farc political party has almost no support from the populace. If I'm not mistaken it is lower than 1%

They were given the opportunity to reinsert into civilian life, but they saw much more potential in keeping dealing with drugs and other illegal activities. The government is not planning to negotiate with them, they can only get caught or killed if they run into the authorities

this is a highly urbanized country (80+%) like basically all countries in the Americas and most of the conflict happens far from populated centers. People living in those areas are of course affected but life in cities are "normal" like in any other countries, except for last week where this Eln group exploded a car bomb at a police compound, but we hadn't had a car bomb attack since 2003.

Most violence here is actually related to territorial control for drugs trafficking rather than illegal militias killing each other for a political ideology
