I don’t know what it is with me, but the Hungarian language always seemed unique, at least in written form. Likewise, there’s just something I find interesting about the place, more so than other countries in Europe.
I’m not trying saying I’m not fascinated with other European countries, which I would love to visit. Maybe I’m just a rambling sunburnt Aus, but still... Magyars, you’ll always seem cool to me.
>I’m not trying saying Lol, sorry, looks like I am losing my mind from the sun.

It's that steppe raider vibe, very cool

Finnish sounds like faggish compared to hungARYAN.

Hunter Lewis
Try learning Hungarian though. It's a real challenge

Like I mentioned, I think they’re quite unique. I’m not even an amateur on European history, so I can’t properly explain why, other than, when compared to other European languages, I can always tell which one is Hungarian. I’d be truly lost if I had to compare Slavic ones.
Bentley Stewart
Simply amazing. :)

because hungarian had the convenience of translating into latin script, as well as changing very little outside of notation since the last millenium (a lot of older words were also resurrected during linguistic reform in the 1800s during the whole indrustrial revolution hypetrain). This means that Hungarian is a complex language with a simple writing system, and I think it lends itself to expression and prose. I couldn't give less of a shit about poetry in English, but for some reason hungarian lends itself much more to complex expressions and prose, in my opinion.
Arabic is also similar, but they're both hampered by the fact that they both sound like rough languages to people who aren't used to hearing it (although I have to say, arabic sounds rougher to me just because of the coarse throat sounds). I've heard a lot of slavs and romanians make fun of hungarian for having lots of sh-, ah and eh sounds, but to be honest I thing it's one of the mid-tier sounding Euro langauges above all slavic languages, but below French, Italian and Spanish since they have a much more pronounced melodic flow. Hungarian, however, has the advantage with vowel harmony in words, which make languages like Mandarin and Korean sound disgusting if you're used to it.

Yeah, I probably would not guess Hungarian if someone actually spoke it to me, but still, seems like something interesting to learn.
Mason Anderson
There is nothing unique about it.

I disagree. It may not be anything different like with a writing system, but it certainly is not the same as surrounding countries.

Hungary and Hungarians are weird. The whole place just has a different vibe to it, a people who are self-consciously different from the rest of Europe and take pride in it. I mean that as a complement btw. I loved Budapest.
Henry Murphy
:D Hogy őrjöng a niggerimádó elmebeteg!

Here, have one of my favorite books/poems. It's one of the more famous pieces of Hungarian literature, but probably not outside the country, since it's hard to translate youtu.be/gd2nyEsbjLo
they're all stubborn as mules and cynical, more so than even the slavs. Budapest is also very different from the rest of the country, sort of like comparing a New Yorker to someone from small-town Kansas. That said, there is a collective consciousness that permeates the culture, it's like taking pride in being depressed, but still having a good time. I guess that's what happens when you spend a millenium wedged between Austrians, Poles, Russians, Mongols, Slavs and Turks, and have your country nearly wiped out so many times
Jackson Johnson
Thanks for the link! :)

Post your favorite Hungarian music, I don't know much but I like the sound of the language
no problem, there might be a translated edition somewhere, but i doubt it would be as good.
