Europe has the best architecture in the world by far, but why are their skyscrapers and new developments so ugly?
For example London, they destroy historical buildings to build ugly things like the dildo or the walkie tokie.
In pic Torre Velasca in Milan, Italy. Horrible.

r8 this elevator testing tower from my town
Montparnasse Tower in Paris, totally out of the place.
Damn that building looks amazing desu
>skyscrapers and new developments so ugly
Skyscrapers and new developments are generally ugly. Architecture is dead. Art is dead. If you have a reserve of historical buildings, then you should do your best to save it. Because it isn't coming back.
Atheist architecture is soulless
>Europe has the best architecture in the world by far,
they're not new, the ugly stuff is usually from the '60s
torre velasca is actually pretty cool, in style with the greyness of milan
It used to.
nah man islamic architecture was superior for a long time. also indian architecture
I fucking hate giant glass dildoes
we shouldstop copying that unitedstatian shit
>density scares me
ok cuck
Not really, even alhambra is an architecturally European monument since
1. The muslims heavily copied Rome
2. These places have been modified and built upon up to the point that it's nowhere near it's original islamic state
Europe generally has a very broad range of architectural styles, there list is much larger than Islamic architecture(a lot of which just copies Europe).
Looks like a giant dildo
yes
why
not
its...so...groB
>For example London, they destroy historical buildings to build ugly things like the dildo or the walkie tokie.
No, they're built on top of 60s/70s garbage. Central London was bombed heavily in the war.
This pretty much. New buildings don't usually look very good. Occasionally there will be exceptions but for the most part they're pretty bland or plain ugly
don't you even dare, Velasca cannot be touched
This one is pretty funny. There were supposed to be many more towers, but when they built this one, people freaked out about how out of place it looks. So they didn't build the rest, and as a result it looks out of place, because there are no other towers around it. lol
btw its about to get a redesign, still going to be an eyesore but there is going to be gardens and shit so maybe a little bit better.metropolismag.com
btw they're renovating it, making it look lighter among other things (but not as light as in the concept renderings, because glass doesn't work like that)
fug forgot my image
I see pic related out of my window.
capitalist countries have no culture
yeah man I love communist architecture
>new building bad
After the World War II many western countries tried to turn their cities in copies of New York City. But after they saw the result the desisted lol
This building in pic for example is in the middle of Mexico City's historic center!
design something nice and people won't dislike it
That's actually a pretty nice example of what a glass building actually looks like. Compared to renders like this where they want you to think that the building is made from some kind of bioluminescent shell. Glass walls end up looking more like some kind of blue metal, unless you're looking from just the right angle at the right time
obviously a symbol of the blackening of europe
disgusting
Moscow has good designs tho
>Jow Forums
>people
Most people i know like new buildings.
Fuck off the Velasca is KINO
Velasca in animu
I actually really like this type of brutalist style, if it's a large district. If it's just one building thrown somewhere, it looks really bad and out of place, but as a larger area it's cool
this building is so fucking good it's absurd
god bless the italians
there are better pictures of firenze m8
post some OC ffs
Lol, bow in front of your masters
Do you really like Torre Velasca? I found it very ugly, something that you could find in Mozambique or North Korea.
where in the world aren't new developments fugly?
*blocks your path*
*looks cool inside and out and is objectively the greatest symphony hall in the world*
heh.. nichts persönliches, kind
fucking expensive tho
I appreciate your pun, user, even if no one else does.
Sky scrapers only look great grouped together. A single one just sticks out.
this
this. they let raddison make a tower here in hamburg and it's fucking ugly. should be demolished
It's better they didn't put anymore of those shit. They would still look out of place
Yeah this is something I've actually started thinking about as of late. They recently built a highrise here and it looks super bad, but then I started looking at different highrise pictures and noticed that almost all of them look kinda ugly. But if there's a lot of them next to each other, you don't really focus on any particular one
kind of how like one spot is a wart but many are freckles
looks like a building where niggers and subhuman druggies and illegals would live, like the palermo's zen or the velas of naples
it isn't terrible, plus port areas don't shine for good architecture anyway, mostly hipster bait and loft apartments from recycled industrial sites
now if someones posts that giant black tumor from austria placed in the middle of the central town...i think it was a museum or a uni
>look WAVES
>because we are near the WATER
>so DEEP
fuck Hamburg, fuck Germany
that's USA Disneyland tier
