the urban/suburban people usually vote for these things in new england. although there is a non-trivial amount of rural people that also support tighter gun laws.

from a government standpoint - new england has some tight gun laws, only new hampshire similar laws to the rural flyover regions of the usa. the other states are restrictive, even VT.

on a personal level: i live in MA which usually ranks among hte highest for restricting guns. i have two friends who are gun owners. the only law that i think should be repealed is the semi-automatic ban. i know there is some education class or w/e you need to take, but that makes sense to me. we do the same thing for driving.
