I personnaly know some people in the business and political world and all I can say is, the exact opposite of that would happen.

Davie and all orbiting companies would basicaly now have all their problem solved, telecom companies and service providers would would also be in the same relative situation, resource exploitation would either have to fuck off and leave room for local companies or be owned by the now sovereign country of Québec.

Probably canada would have to break in three countries then, or they'd be in the weird situation of having to go through one or another foreign country to get the other part of theirs. All of canada should be annexed by the US, tbqhwy.

Quebec would lose most of its land. Rupert's Land was given to the PROVINCE OF Quebec, not the independent state of Quebec. Rupert's Land would become part of ontario and part of newfoundland & labrador and the hydroelectric dams would be very useful for Canadians.

Quebec would be mostly confined to a strip of land along the St. Laurence and would become the #1 receiver of Canadian foreign aid as their precious little nation state eroded over the next 30 years. During that time Quebec would loosen it's language laws to attract immigrants and Anglo investment from Canada/US/elsewhere. It's culture would erode as a result of being surrounded by 400 million Anglophones without the protection of Canada. Eventually Quebec would beg to become a state of the USA at which point the number of people with French as a first language would be a mere 30%. They would lament their past decisions for the rest of history and historians would shake their head at their shortsightedness.
