Feel really tall for an Asian, especially for a Thai but I feel only slightly tall when around young white guys at my university; get called tall often by other people but I'm nothing exceptional. I feel like legit, stand-out tall starts at 190cm (6'3").

5'10" is actually dead on average for young white guys according to the CDC.

Isn't 6' very tall in Japan? Seeing over 99% people on the metro must be a good feeling.

I'm 5'8" 174cm and Italian friends called me normal height or even tall for southern Italy. You're either from northern Italy or people just hated you.

Yes, I was. In elementary and middle school I was the shortest male, I grew up with quite a slow pace and stopped around at 21yo.

Then I stopped at the age of 13-14 at 174. Those who were my height back then are all around 185 now.

Seems like the Finnish male height average has gone up a bunch even in the past 10-20 years or so, when I was a kid 180cm was considered a little tall but now when I'm an adult I feel below average even amongst junior high kids at my workplace.

How Asians play basketball in the school? My school had baskets at athlete level and even me at 1.75 could not reach the 3 meters high jump needed. Now I am 1.87 and still can't jump that. Never understood why make the basket at that level when no one could reach it in the school.

Yeah read a study that showed that young Southerners were like 174cm while young northerners were around 177cm. Northern Italians aren't that tall but they're pretty similar to other western Europeans.

I've seen hundreds of middle/high school kids in the past 10 years thanks to work and there are way more 180+cm boys in their teens than when I was a teen myself.

Can't speak for Japan but in Thailand the baskets are usually lower than in the West since the average young Thai guy is like 169-170cm.

That makes sense, there are a lot of mestizos and indigenous in Mexico city. Around Mexican castizos/whites I feel "just tall". One thing I noticed is that standard deviation is a lot lower than in the US; I saw alot of guys who were like 178cm to 181cm but men over that range become increasingly rare.

I tower 99%+ of people I meet by a significant margin. Went to the Netherlands last year expecting to feel more normal but I still towered almost everyone per usual lol.

It's significantly above average and a pain in the ass. Clothes never fit, no legroom, and I'm probably going to get back pain and die early. I'd kill to be like 6'0" to 6'2", you're tall but still "normal" and can live comfortably.

Somewhat, particularly with taller girls. Short girls are almost always a no-go though. In terms of physical attractiveness my height and body is the only thing going for me (weak chin, receding hairline, asymmetrical face) and I've literally had girls tell me that they only fucked me because of my height lol.

Yeah it's not that young Mexicans and chicanos are a lot shorter than gringos, it's just uncommon to find a Mexican 6' and over and one 5'4" or shorter whereas gringos have a wider range of heights.

I'm 167 cm/ 5'6". I wish I was at least 175 cm/ 5'9". I go through periods of really hating my height to not caring.

I've heard that tall girls actually care less about a guy's height since they themselves often suffer reverse stigmas about their own heights. I don't know how true this is, though.
