Is nobody going to talk about this?
>English speakers are born with the privilege of speaking the international language
>they barely ever manage to learn a language as they know their privilege makes it optional
>they get offended when you ask them politely to switch back to english after their 2 week knowledge of italian/spanish/french doesnt work
how do we fix this?
English privilege
We butcher their language with our retarded accents
>>they get offended when you ask them politely to switch back to english after their 2 week knowledge of italian/spanish/french doesnt work
WE'RE FUCKING TRYING ALRIGHT?!
yes but also
>only speak one language like brainlets
>live in a dreary, soggy grey hellscape
>aren't very pleasant to be around
>they get offended when you ask them politely to switch back to english after their 2 week knowledge of italian/spanish/french doesnt work
I hate when people speak English to me when I said something in Spanish. Only way I'll get better faster if they reply in Spanish. Shits me up the fucking wall.
There's a bloke here who always speaks to me in Tok Pisin because he knows that I know enough to understand him, I love it. When I can I'll reply in Tok Pisin for him.
>Speak one good language and one pointless language
>Live in shitty sandy-brown desert
>bomb your neighbouring countries
Get a load of this guy.
I wish English was my first language so that I didn't have to waste my brain capacity in learning 2 languages. That could have spent on learning something more meaningful.
if you butcher it when you speak people are gonna think that you dont understand much either even if you actually understand
learning languages actually creates new links in your brain, so only knowing english would actually be wasting your brain besides giving you a limited world view as different languages convey completelly different points of view of the world
>Once I was chatting with an american girl, and she did not understand me, because I used some british words.
Based
yes but since we are bilingual we have an easier time picking languages, many israelis speak 4-5 languages. same cant be said of britons
also sunshine beats rain any day of the week, evident by the fact that most brits when given the chance retire to spain or portugal instead of stay in britain and risk contracting pneumonia
i personally avoid playing with brits
i had a few brit friends but when i got on voicechat with them it would be hard as fuck to understand them and they'd sometimes struggle understanding me too, whereas i perfectly understand other europeans and they understand me
>languages actually creates new links in your brain, so only knowing english would actually be wasting your brain besides giving you a limited world view as different languages convey completelly different points of view of the world
he actually fell for the muh "new experiences" meme.
its true, you can get fluent enough that you think in your target language and its completelly different from your native language
>Learning a second language benefits cognitive abilities like intelligence and memory, while lowering risks of brain aging, dementia and Alzheimer’s.
>Children who study a foreign language receive a boost in overall cognitive development, do better on standardized tests, are more creative, and have better self-esteem and sense of achievement in school.
>A bilingual person is accustomed to switching between different languages, deciding which is the appropriate language to use in a given situation (and which language should be avoided). This gives the brain plenty of practice in focusing and filtering information.
>A study by the NIH discovered that because bilinguals have better working memories, can focus their attention, and can disregard distractions, they are able to switch between tasks quickly and easily (just as they are able to
switch between languages).
>A baby raised in a house where Spanish and Catalan are spoken, would also be able to tell the difference between a totally different pair of languages, such as English and French. Essentially, exposure to two languages early on contributes to a person’s perceptual sensitivity with unfamiliar things.
>By learning another language, your mother tongue can improve as a result. As you learn a second language, your knowledge of grammar improves. This linguistic awareness then transfers back to your first language.
ignore the eternal coping brit, unable to come to terms with the fact he's no longer relevant and relegated to being the mocking subject of Jow Forums rather than a colonial power.
it's a well known fact being multi-lingual affects your intelligence later on in life
if multilinguals are so smart then why are anglo countries so rich and wealthy while only speaking one based language? i think you know it makes no difference.
>anglo countries so rich and wealthy
>per capita
imagine coping this hard. keep talking that anglo talk my friend.
its just bants nige relax
well, per capita is a latin term, makes sense that a paki can't comprehend the implications, better keep raping little british girls
It's like the easiest language in the world to learn, why are you angry?
imagine bragging about being pooer than new zealand
>Hey, we should go to Cinema some time!
>WHAAAAT?!?
>I just want to say, your eyes have a nice colour
>What, do I have something in my eyes?
imagine bragging about being poorer than New Zealand
intelligence doesnt matter for countries, it matters for individuals
countries have deeper geopolitical reasons for their current situation
Hey schmuck being a colonial power is not correlated with being worthwhile. Your attempt at humor, such as it was, fell flat.
Also shanda fur de goyim. Mind your manners junior.
I was refering to british slangs and completely diferent words like eggplant and Aubergine. At least here in LATAM even if every country has different slangs, and the same object can have differents names in every country, we maintain a basic knowledge of it.
slang is already plural
All Israelis are going to Berlin because they hate their desert shithole Avi.
Got it, thank you.
yep. And I have to learn to sift through all the weird mistakes you guys make to figure out wtf you non-native speakers are saying. The worst is when Im travelling for awhile and start to make the same mistakes because SO many people say it wrong, its like catching a disease.
Reconquista is going according to plan, Jorge. Spanish will become the lingua franca in our lifetime
>>I just want to say, your eyes have a nice colour
>>What, do I have something in my eyes?
What?
>learn spanish
only useful in mexico and SA, might visit spain one day
>learn french
some value being a leaf but no one here speaks it in the west
>learn German
better be moving to Hamburg, even there everyone of the youth prefer precious eigo
>learn Japanese
would have to spend 5+ years in Japan to make this worth anything and there's no way i'm living there
What you beta languagers dont realize is that if you drive 200km in any direction no one speaks your soon to be extinct language anymore.
>drive 200km
>still in czech republic
SNEED
are you stupid
hard cope from the western europoor.
How about you learn Chine... oh wait nvm
you already do that :P
You say that like it's a bad thing, but it's actually really fun to hear foreign accents speaking English. Like it's one of my favorite things that people do at parties.
let's kill them all!!
(no)
spanish is the actual international language though, have europeans ever been outside of europe
