>2 and 20 fees
>2% annual and 20% on any gains
Holy fuck

This
What kind of crazy fucking returns are they getting to """"justify"""" these fees?

And that's how the rich become rich

The people who invest in hedge funds usually have more money than brains. The managers of the hedge funds also develop very personal relationships with the investors to make it more alluring. When you have a lot of money it's easy to get paranoid about losing it all and it's easy to believe some suave guy who claims to be an expert in the field and already manages a bunch of other rich people's money

Do you think it would be valuable to look up all these successful hedge fund managers and read everything they've ever written?

I mean of course it would be, my question I guess is. Would most of these people provide information that is even valuable to the public or do they all guard it?

Returns you would believe, but on a very large scale

Someone explain me this meme of only using "2%"?

Why would you use only 2% of your cash?

What's the point of putting all that effort to earn 5% on your 2%?

Do they use stupid amount of leverage on that 2% or something? 2% accepted loss?

I DONT GET IT

These thematically related I think

It says for the
>novice trader
Novice. Neophyte. Never done it before.
It means don't bet the farm while you're still learning.

Wouldn't you get raped by fees by using such tiny amounts then?

What kind of novice would have any significant amount of money to burn down?

>Wouldn't you get raped by fees by using such tiny amounts then?
Yes. But it's better to get raped by fees short term while you lose only 2% of your wealth than to go all in from the start and lose it all.

>What kind of novice would have any significant amount of money to burn down?
Someone with a high income who didn't earn their surplus capital from investing, obviously.
What is hard to understand about this?
You know when you're frying something, to see if the oil is hot you drop a little piece in to see if it fizzles: that's what you're doing.

In engineering they call it "front end loading". Also, I think it might be connected to the Smile Curve . Good Project Managers save you money through proper preparation, meaning that there is less risk of problems emerging later on in a project's life cycle and therefore a better ROI.
