Yes, this is also a thought of mine.
I can easily lie to a professional and paint an inauthentic image of myself. I have done that in the past.
I'm comparably more honest with myself.

He/she is a doctor. They have a vow of silence. It is illegal for them to talk anything about their patients.
This vow goes as far as they can't go to police if you tell them you have murdered someone. Only exception to this is if you say you are going to commit murder.
But if you are hell-bent on going on ignorant then go on. It will not help you though.

When I was 5 I said I didn't like music and went along with it until I got too far in and am now to self conscious about liking music to admit it to anybody
I stopped working out at home because there were constantly people about and I was making sure I did it completely unseen before in case it got brought up

OP anything you say to a doctor or any medical professional in the us is protected under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) They can not share any info you give with another person unless you allow it.
