How are Eastern Europeans seen by the typical people from your country?
In France we have a negative vision about them and for the average Frenchman, there are 4 countries in Eastern Europe
>Romania This is from where the Gypsies come from. They are thieves and beggars. It's a very poor country. Romanians still believe in Middle Ages traditions. They don't have electricity. They drive premium cars when they have a bit of money.
>Yugoslavia The people from the former Yugoslavia are seen as the scum of the scum. They are thieves, very uncivilized and very poor people. There's no electricity. They will rob you and beat you. They are seen as white Arabs or even white Africans. They are ugly and very stupid. They drive premium cars when they have a bit of money.
>Russia (Ukraine, Belarussia and Baltic country are part of Russia for us) Very strong country. Very patriotic people. Poor country. They are all either genius and brainlets - the huge majority being brainlet. They prefer to spend all the money in the army rather than in improving the county and its living conditions. Russian women are perfect. Russian men drink vodka everyday. They are still somewhat communists. It's -40°C and it snows.
>Poland A bit less poor than Russia and clearly less poor than Romania and the former Yugoslavia. Religious people. They drink a lot. They are almost as patriotic as Russians. Poland is grey and cold.
In Poland we have a negative vision about them and for the average Pole, there are 4 countries in Eastern Europe

>Russian women are perfect. >Russian men drink vodka everyday. They drink with us.
Romani people come from India, you ignorant faggot t. 1/8 rom
Jose Young
Yeah but the north-south divide is so much more relevant today.
As in it's so much easier to find some sort of cultural affinity/understanding with a Pole/Balt than it is with a Spaniard.

Aiden Reyes
Dont get mad at me its not my fault if there is so much russian prostitutes
Ayden Foster
Nowadays, but not in 1700s. Your own worldview is entirely shaped by the cold war. To people in the past Germany, Scandinavia, Russia, Poland or England were part of one thing - Northern Europe.
I am not making this shit up. Read for example the "Making of Eastern Europe".
Camden Brooks
And somehow they are proud about that lol
Charles Flores
>what is the schism of 1054
Grayson Miller
It's definitely your fault that every major French city is full of arabs and Africans lol
Julian Perry
At this point it's better to live here than in many cities of France, come on People migrate out of habit only now, much like they flock to the third world that is US only to be worse off
Isaiah Anderson
That’s funny, because at least here, French women are stereotyped as the biggest coalburners on the planet.
Christopher Robinson
Why so mad Ivan ?
Brayden Wright
>As in it's so much easier to find some sort of cultural affinity/understanding with a Pole/Balt than it is with a Spaniard.
That's your POV, it's subjective.
Fact is there is an economic border between Eastern and Western Europe.
And I've heard that Poles were bullied in England, I haven't heard such thing about Spaniards, of course there are far more Poles in England than Spaniards, so we can't conclude something about this but affinity between Brits and Poles doesn't seem at the top.
Christopher Anderson
That was very rude France :(
Connor Diaz
Poland and Bohemia were in the Latin camp. Besides, the schism was irrelevant in many places, especially the Balkans.
Brayden Adams
>schism was irrelevant in many places, especially the Balkans Sure... which is why Croatia and Serbia are split on religious grounds.
Benjamin Gonzalez
So I guess Greece, Portugal are eastern european now lol
And we will surpass Italy in Gdp per capita in 2-3 years
Stop being so arrogant Pierre, it's not nice and honestly you look like an idiot
Christian Smith
>And I've heard that Poles were bullied in England, I haven't heard such thing about Spaniards, of course there are far more Poles in England than Spaniards, so we can't conclude something about this but affinity between Brits and Poles doesn't seem at the top.
Because there are so many of them in England there will always be such accident with alleged "bullying" one per many thousands, doesn't mean that they are bullied. In fact most Poles claim they are treated better by Brits than by fellow Poles.
Take in mind Poles aren't tribalistic and they do not stick with themselves.
Nathan Price
They are not. Religion is neither the cause nor the effect of their mutual hatred, but nationalism.
Angel Johnson
To people in the past Germany, Scandinavia, Russia, Poland or England were part of one thing - Northern Europe.
Historically, when Europe was dominated by the Roman Empire, everything not near the Mediterranean region was termed Northern Europe, including southern Germany, all of the Low Countries, and Austria. This meaning is still used today in some contexts, for example, discussions of the Northern Renaissance.
That just means they were far from the Mediterranean Sea, not that they were close each others.
Joseph Morgan
To be fair, Poles are hated in the UK because lots of our scum went there.
Landon Myers
>Poles aren't tribalistic and they do not stick with themselves.
Same can't be said of Spaniards, especially on Erasmus
Jonathan King
wew, we got off easy. Russia win again!
Noah Stewart
Holy shit this is hilariously true. You always see the 5 Spaniards walking together everywhere you go.
Carson Garcia
Poles do not stick with themselves because they hate themselves, especially the "expat" type of Poles. There was a proverb "If a Pole did not hurt you, it means he already helped you"
Ethan Clark
>And we will surpass Italy in Gdp per capita in 2-3 years
While Slavic countries are comfier and comfier every year, West is turning to the third world shithole
Liam Cooper
Even we still divide it this way, despite online memes. Polish media almost always refer to Poland and other V4 countries as "central-eastern Europe". Not entirely correct. The PLC had quite good relations with France. Many nobles would marry people from there and trade relations were also developed. There is a story of a Polish delegation that arrived in Paris, and they experienced a bit of a culture shock. The Poles who arrived in Paris were clad in expensive furs and carried lots of jewelry to display their wealth. The clothing style of the French was completely different and they were surprised at this and many other behaviors displayed by the Polish delegation. Even back then, there existed a schism between "western mentality" and "eastern mentality".
Thomas Edwards
It's a stereotype, Ahmed. Have you ever even been with a prostitute? Barely any of them here are Russian.

John Wood
Not at all. This topic is not well covered in English-speaking sources for some reason (or I simply can't find it), but in Polish historiography the notion of economic dualism in the development of Europe based between western and eastern Europe divided by the Elbe river is well established and deeply entrenched
it goes as far as 16th century actually and it was the most important factor that caused the divergence in development of eastern European countries as compared to their western European neighbors
Eli Gutierrez
He is right actually. North - South was the main division until 19th century.

>we east euros Do Eastern Russians count as Slavs?
>Czechs We're deeply divided on our attitude towards Czechs, we have quite a big group of Czechophiles who are people with liberal views, they like Czech attitude to the church, religion, their sense of humour, not taking history and statehood seriously etc., on the other hand most of Poles see Czechs as quite arrogant and rude people who look down on us even though they didn't achieve anything on their own, also they try to block our export of food to their country with made up accusations just to protect their domestic industry, we don't like it >Slovaks just little Czechs, maybe a bit more positive and less arrogant towards Poles >Hungary Traditionally our best bros, but in fact we don't know much about them. Hungary is already the place where Europeans start looking "swarthy" and "dark" to us in the southern direction >Romania Unfortunately, it's a country perceived in a very negative way here, because Romanian (Rumun) is a synonym of "gypsy" here. It's kinda unfair, but this association is already rooted in our minds and it's not likely to disappear soon. So basically Romanians are seen as extremely poor, dirty, backwards etc., just a synonym of a shithole here. >Moldova They make good wine. >Slovenia No particular stereotypes, just a country you go through to get into Croatia, very clean and ordered. >Croatia Catholic bros, basically a Balkan version of Poles. Happy, cheerful, handsome, swarthy people speaking an understandable language, drinking wine and singing all the time. Ofc this stereotype pertains to Croats from the coast only but Poles don't know any other Croats. >Bosnia War, poverty >Serbia Little Russia, but not as terrible, nice food and music. >Montenegro Holiday destination >Albania mafia, gangs, drug smuggling, human trafficking, poverty, but nice beaches >Bulgaria Holiday destination, but rather poor and backwards (not as much as Romania though), people already look Turkish.
maybe it was in minds of Polish szlachta that was too stupid to notice that western Europe had developed in another direction and reached a completely different level than anything east of the Elbe
Prussians in 18th century described Poles as literal vermin and subhumans unable to run a proper economy (Polnische Wirtschaft) and their country so this division west-east was obvious to them
Jordan Green
>We're deeply divided on our attitude towards Czechs No, we aren't. They regularly take the top place as the most liked nation in national opinion surveys. I agree that they're insufferable sometimes, but the average Pole still likes them, very much even.
Charles Hernandez
Well, I did not mean Polish views only. It was a common view in Europe. Fuck, I forgot the name of guy who wrote a book about that.
David Torres
Still, I don't believe someone in 18th century put Poland and England in the same basket in terms of economy, social development, architecture, climate etc. etc.
Elijah Foster
Who gives a shit what Prussians thought? Is German validation the only way you can feel good about yourself?
William Russell
What are you talking about ? 90% of white escorte in france are russian and they often lie and says they are from baltics or poland but all of them are russian. Germans gave us christianity (it's a meme that we took it from Czechs), civilization, basic understanding of economy (and they run our economy for centuries), architecture, science, basically everything of worth in Poland was created by Germans or germanized Jews, so yes, we do value their opinion very much
Nathan Price
Uh-huh, for example the beautiful German city of Zamość built by German architect Bernardo Morando, on the orders of the famed German noble Jan Zamojski and populated by settlers directly from Brandenburg. Go back to watching youtube.
Matthew Williams
>Germans gave us christianity
They wanted our ruin from the start.

>W 1827 roku mieszkało tu 2874 Żydów, w 1921 r. – 9383 (49,3% ludności miasta).
Half of the city population were germanized Jews and they were obviously the richest class.
Julian Morgan
Nah, he's just a Germboo. He lacks basic historical knowledge though (for example he has claimed that Poland was a part of the Soviet Union in the past). He's probably just a teenager who got lost on his way to Jow Forums.

Polonized Jews, if anything. They still didn't build the city though.

XDDDD Honestly 4/10 bait, because you tried.
Justin Bell
>(for example he has claimed that Poland was a part of the Soviet Union in the past)
I never did
>Polonized Jews, if anything.
I'm sure 90% of them spoke Yiddish, a Germanic language, as their native language.
Nathaniel Morris
Jews were poor subhumans, they weren't richest class. The richest class was nobility (around 10% of people) none of them were ethnic Jew.
Gavin Cruz
A Germanic language with considerable Polish influences. Not german. They also all spoke polish and used yiddish to communicate among themselves.
>A Germanic language with considerable Polish influences.
Not really. Polish borrowed from Yiddish more than the other way around.
> They also all spoke polish
Their Polish was very poor and limited to words necessary in trade, especially among Jews from small towns like Zamość (it was different among well educated Jews in big cities).
>The richest class was nobility
The nobles didn't live in cities. And a lot of nobles were Jews actually, Jews could buy the "patent" quite easily.
Thomas James
>Their Polish was very poor and limited to words necessary in trade, especially among Jews from small towns like Zamość (it was different among well educated Jews in big cities). I trust that you can provide a source for such a moronic claim?
Josiah Perry
>The nobles didn't live in cities XD >And a lot of nobles were Jews actually XD

Ignore him. He's actually a retard. Honestly I've never had so much fun reading such alternative history.
