Jap here. Hes accepted because the previous PMs were losers who couldnt stay in power more than 6 months. Hes not a hardcore nationalist, but more nationalist leaning. He hasn't fixed the economy but Japanese economy has been thawing ever so slowly thanks in part to his policies. Incomes are still shit in the country though (compared to US at least)
