Just listen to more podcasts, tv and youtube in english. No subtitles. I love Japan and the japanese, but the English speaking and comprehension skills of about every jap. I've ever interacted with has been terrible to say the least (just being sincere and giving you friendly advice. Good luck, friend)

in fact I think my command of English is as decent as average Europeans have in every way, it's just I still feel inferior when i see people with a face similar to mine extremely versed in the language.
