Why do white people call the yellow fruit lemon and the green fruit lime? Here in Mexico we call the yellow one lima and the green one limón. Why are white people so random like that?

It's more common to call it "limón amarillo"

In italian it'd be
Green: limetta
Yellow: limone
Your way doesn't make sense in my language because lemons are bigger than limes

I've only ever heard lima where I'm from (Western Mexico)

There were occasionally some in my town when I was little but it never occurred to me they were the lemons people talked about on TV

No , its limón amarillo or limón rey, lima Is the Green sweet one , Guadalajara here

They sell them in my local Chedraui
Like 10 a piece though

I'm from Michoacan

It's funny here it's the opposite. The first time I saw the green ones I thought they weren't ripe

White way is the correct one. Mexicans are in the wrong here.

Mexicans are the weird ones, the yellow one is a limon and the green one is a lima

Yep, in brazil we call both lemon; we call the yellow one sicilian lemon to refer to it specifically. That's wrong though, the yellow one is lemon and the green one is lime.

i call the green one limón or limón de colima to differentiate and the yellow one limón real

What's the difference

Yellow = Zwiebel
Green = Erbse

the yellow one is limón
the green one is lima
mexicans are retarded

>mexicans are retarded
Finally someone else see's it.

This. As has been said, green is lime, yellow is lemon. Uruguay rises above the rest.

No, we don't.

You don't call the yellow one limón and the green one lima?

Yellow = Limão Siciliano
Green = Limão (Taiti)
lime = Lima

But the yellow one is lime? Do you have other fruit?

* key lime = lima
