I believe it's about 50/50 here. I wouldn't want it as mandatory for a specific crime, as much as I would want it based on circumstances. Someone who commited a particularly heinous shouldn't be allowed to live in prison on my tax dollars

Only if the execution was carried out immediately after the sentencing. Our death row is a joke. Many prisoners wait 30 years to be executed, only to die from illness or suicide.

Some sort of a system where the victim or relatives of the victim have more say is worth of consideration, but state should not have that power. Hell, the state shouldn't control the judicial system to begin with.
