it's not nascent at all, but i'd say that it's normal because humans have pretty much always experienced homosexuality, and gender dysphoria . We're also not the only animals that have homosexual sex. It's not unnatural for a living thing to be attracted to the same gender, or even to switch genders if their species is equipped for it, which humans are through the evolution of human knowledge and technology.

Not like schizophrenia but gender dysphoria is classified as a mental disorder and the proper and most effective treatment for it is gender reassignment. Homosexuality is not a mental disorder at all. Human sexuality operates on a sliding scale and is very fluid.

The gender they identify as. It really doesn't matter though bathrooms are bathroom, and I've never seen a bathroom guarded by security making sure the people are going into the proper toilet. I've used the women's toilet a few times in my life when the men's room is out of service. I didn't feel compelled to assault anyone or peek over the stall to watch a woman take a shit, it's not a big deal.

Through brainwash (especially parenting failure as educating rightfully their child in their early agge development), it could be but it's more like the result of high levels of insecurity within your own skin, or being unable to attract someone from the opposite sex, so they think by dating/fucking people from the same sex, they will feel more comfortable with their skin, which in reality makes it worse.
