Problem is that everyone learns it from young age so there'll be strong bias, won't find anyone below 60 with at least some basic knowledge. And even if you find the oddball who didn't, there's still inescapable exposure via media and advertising.
I can only theorize it would be Scandi level intelligible at best, not only because of the many French/Latin loanwords you have already at relatively "low"/basic speech level, but there's also the different word order and the fact that things evolved pretty much separately over the last 1600 years due to your island status, in contrast we counter-influenced a lot with Dutch, so that many compounds and even sayings/fixed expressions are very similar. Swe/Dan/Nor were also influenced heavily by Low German during Hanse times, that makes them quite a bit easier to understand than Icelandic which stayed more "pure North Germanic"
