I'm using Bantu as shorthand for practically everybody else outside of the Horn, I know West Africans etc don't fit into that but I couldn't be bothered to say "everybody else in Africa".
What I'm trying to say is "Black Africans that are not from the Horn of Africa. I'm aware my use of the term Bantu is inaccurate.
Habeshas actually kept Nilotic slaves if we want to stick to actual accuracy.

It’s because Ethiopia was one of the few countries that successfully fought back against European colonials. Yes the Italians eventually won, but it was a phyrric victory. After WW2 it was independent, while the rest of Africa was still under European rule. Many other Africans took this as an inspiration, such as Ethiopia’s flag colors, red/yellow/green.
Meanwhile, some Jamaicans thought he was the Messiah. Halile Selassie himself didn’t really acknowledge this, but the Jamaicans persisted.
