Why cant Ireland have peace? Would they really chimp out over Catholic/Protestant differences in the Lords year of 2019? Assuming a border and identification of some kind is required?

it's not about religion, it's mostly cultural and political beliefs. both sides have been brought up to despise each other and their cultures reinforce it.
you get more mixing in the upper classes, but kids generally still go to catholics or protestant schools, there's no seeing eye to eye
>there's no seeing eye to eye
What about through Christ?
Most people are softies now anyway, will people actually beginning physical altercations?
It's not about religion.
It very well could, people have softened here, but there is still sectarian violence and paramilitary groups. A hard border could galvanise these people through a shared cause.
It's about pushing out the British invaders! UP THA RA!
Okay, this is redpilled

B-but user.
Look up IQ by denomination and you will see why
You don't understand. Yes, protestants are generally unionists and catholics are nationalists, but they're not firebombing each other because one has a few icons of the virgin mary. While the communities are separated along religious lines, they're not the reason for it.
