I have never purchased any consumer genomics services. However, a first degree relative of mine has, so they have a pretty good idea of what my genome looks like in certain areas anyway.

In the future, there will be no genetic privacy: people will have their genomes sequenced before birth, either as embryos or fetuses, and all of this data will be stored by some kind of national health service. However, for the time being, people need to be cognizant of what they are consenting to when they offer this information to private firms.

Well, you can get genotype information for certain medically important loci at a low cost. However I don't think 23AndMe is quite as good as medical grade tests with regard to sensitivity and specificity.
