What does German sound like to you?

What does German sound like to you?
Be honest and describe it as best as you can.

A mix between profanity and sneezing.

>sneezing
interesting

Hard and consonantic
I like it, it feels like I'm saying earth or steel magic when I speak.

English and french crossover
I recently started german lessons and its quite fascinating

Literally say the following:

"Achtung"
"Schnell"
"Osten"
"Essiggurke"

It fucking does!

Sounds harsh and overly complex

It's not a pretty language but it wouldn't be considered super gross if Hitler wasn't a thing

I never hear much of it, but the German version of the Sovereign speech in Mass Effect 1 is the most terrifying one for me.

youtube.com/watch?v=xHAbZEq7X8g&

>I like it, it feels like I'm saying earth or steel magic when I speak.
thanks i'll keep that it mind

What do you think about this?
I've seen many Americans post this video on this website
youtube.com/watch?v=uKHOL-EIGCY

hmm i can see how schnell sounds like it but essiggurke?

hitler had an austrian accent by the way. this made his voice stand out even more.
listen to the secret conversation video of him and mannerheim. the one where he taks normally and doesnt scream like an autist. his accent is very present in this dialogue

Very Masculine

I think it sounds intelligent. it sounds strong. I listen to german ASMR. its so interesting to listen to and I'd like to learn it but I'm a mutt so Germany would never want me.

I thought it was the ugliest, orc-ish language to ever exist, but that was before getting into Wagner operas and discovering god-awful Mandarin Chinese.

Now I think German is lovely, especially when sung
youtube.com/watch?v=SQO7QIgNvA0

You lots speak too fucking fast

It sounds terrible and autistic

Good, you've learned to love the beauty that is German.
Now you just need to discover how wonderful Mandarin really is.

Always angry, frustrated and spoken with excessive power in the throat muscles as if they believe their lovers are killed if they stopped gargling without water in their mouths.
They look down on everything with a bloody cold machine heart.

I don't think this view I have is affected by Hitler or any other warmongering Nazi villains, as I have been to Germany several times to see my sister and friends (in Munich and Frankfurt), and still feel that way.

Cool as snow
Transparent as pure water

We litterally let >1.5 million arabs and africans in over the last 4 years

it sounds angry and ugly

It's a language specifically designed to give orders at the frontlines, in civilian life it sounds comically agressive.

I'm trying really hard to prepare for the Asian century.
But the more I try, the worse it sounds.

bibedy babedy bobedy indeed

This is how I imagine SS officers spoke when ordering people to be shot.

>German
>Transparent

Interesting how we all develop different ears

Soulless and plain.

>Soulless
Duh, machines don't have souls.

what the fuck lad...

Heart attack

>HBSAIBDLASBUYGYUASILDNOBSAVUOAYVSHBASBDASHBDUASBUYASBDUAVFEYULABCILBZLCKZVKKCDGVLBCJSLVSCG

but they aren't mutts so you don't mind...

5/5 übercool manly language.

Damn, that's a mix of funny and actually scary.

>harsh
>in civilian life it sounds comically agressive.

this is angry german mode
youtube.com/watch?v=Iu5PJ_HUNxo

Jesus christ.
I'm scared but I also have a boner.

With all respect to you I do not like German, it does not sound well in my opinion. Sounds bad in pronunciation. But I do not exclude I will to learn it in the future when I get a job offer in Germany. Also as far as I know it's similar to English cause
>Germanic languages

Southern dialects sound alright but standard German sounds gay and effeminate with men and obnoxious with women

German: More rules, fewer exceptions
French: Fewer rules, more exceptions

It sounds pretty gay. When females speak it it's slightly unpleasant.

it sounds really evil

Sounds gutteral usually.

youtube.com/watch?v=IrDX2cjzxDI

Germany german (standard german) is completely disgusting. I take every kind of dialect over that garbage

Bavarian isn't as bad.

>Germany german

Sound pretty cool, I tryed to learn it once, I could get the prononciations right only when I was so drunk my jaw was numb.

Also, I Wonder how the Québec accent sound like in german, I may pick it up again eventually.

Sounds kinda like Dutch?

cold and stringent, emotionless

Attached: picassoWojak.jpg (540x650, 129K)

>Québec accent sound like in german
Like a French man speaking German

please vocaroo both

>Also, I Wonder how the Québec accent sound like in german, I may pick it up again eventually.
softer and more melodic than anglos. almos like they are singing

>German: More rules, fewer exceptions
You're kidding, right?

Luxemburgish its own language? Since fucking when?
Luxemburgers really need to be put in their place.

I think the're only using 3 cases or something
just another case of tard german

its literally the same dialect we speak here (trier + saarland), they just made it a language

Every time I hear it behind me I feel like I'm about to be shot by a firing squad.

luxemburg is an independent country with a unique dialect. they have their own language

it sounds like a genocide, and i don't mean it in a bad way

trust me, theres barely any difference between luxemburgish and franconian dialects. They have like a dozen or so french loanwords but apart from that its almost identical

Attached: Download.jpg (243x208, 6K)

like English but not bland and aesthetic

Why do we have a thread about dead language? Half germany will speak arap and other half türk within 20 years. Germans are in process of banning German language because nazis used it and hitler spoke it.

The only difference is that the regions in germany nowadays speak nothing but standard german

not unlike Slavic languages, actually - very longwinded and unmelodic

It's as if someone was screaming and giving orders to me.
Pretty traumatizing

Frenchman here

Once spoken, especially with the Austrian accent, it's not that harsh.
But the written language appears really cold, rough and otherworldly. I wish to get used to it sometimes, but I'll say that much, it contributes to homesickness on my part.

American memes are not funny user

>But the written language appears really cold
bureaucratic?

Pol slovenskih narečij "poje", user

But it's supposed they're going to send back all syrian rapuges.

Hard but with softer endings with all the ichs and shit
it seems like the vocabulary is pretty small because i always notice key words coming up over and over more than any other language. Especially fucking genau.

I like like it sounds. Rammstein is cool.

>What does German sound like to you?
German words (including place name and name of a things) sounds really cool to Japanese.
As German words are too cool, we are embarrassed when we use Germans words.
Haven't Germans ever feel same as us?
Of course we like German words very much ^^

youtube.com/watch?v=IJvKkdzTajs
ドイツ語のかっこよさは異常 part1

Very harsh. Exactly the same thing with Chinese. I can't tell when they get angry. I feel like they are everytime. RAUS SCHEISSE SCHNELLA GELD. I haven't been learning German, I only know these words

Although this is a troll post I'd like to point out that Germany is surprisingly strict when it comes to not knowing the language.
Sure, there are some companies that may offer international jobs but you absolutely require to know at least some German for other things, like basic living.
Almost all of the services are in German only. Hell, I've been to the town hall and met employees who can't hold a conversation in English. Don't get me started on land lords, supermarkets, public transport, internet etc. You rarely see English signs anywhere.
Inb4 refugees. Yeah, they don't know German but they are taken care of by ethnic Germans who function as communication partners.
The language is definetely not dying out.

Not really, it's the global aspect of it. Lots of long words, lots of consonants etc. Once spoken it's a lot more fluid and I like the tyrolean accent, it's cute the way they say "bitteh" and stuff, but when I face like a set of instructions on a gas pump it overwhelms me, the severity of the language

nah, the dialect here is pretty alive

It just sounds like English with slightly different word order (split verbs) and more usage of the throat.

Learning it was a breeze. Forgetting it was also a breeze, because there are no German speakers left here and thus no way to retain the language. German used to be the 2nd most common language in the USA up until the 1910s, then you can kinda guess what happened there.

It is. It's racist, nazist and hitleric. It is going to be banned in 2027. Screencap this.

youtu.be/htxZZKv4pMw

Reminds me of a joke Tool song about hash eggs. I'm sure Germans will enjoy this song

Attached: Tool-Maynard-James-Keenan.jpg (625x417, 82K)

Ever learned French?

French doesn't even have consistent rules for phonetics. It's 80%+ of the reason why English as a language is fucked up, thanks to 1066 and this asshole

Attached: norman frogs william conqueror 1066.jpg (624x617, 151K)

depends who's speaking but for the most part it sounds really goofy, especially when younger people speak it

I like it, it reminds me of small1870s midwestern towns

Testosterone laden, cool as fuck.

Like he said, when I speak German to girls they say it sounds super soft and cute. I'm not very good at speaking German though since I never practice it. Here's me reading about half of the Erlkönig by Goethe.

vocaroo.com/i/s1A0pxIpGUFj

Sounds just like a french accent to me. You're right, very soft and faggy

Sounds fucking metal and manly thats why i learnt it

Attached: image.jpg (1067x1600, 697K)

>faggy

Good, girls love that shit.

any country that is so cucked that it puts its signs in english and not its own langauge is gross.

>it contributes to homesickness on my part
I'm sorry for that.
Why are you in Austria and how long will you stay there?

Do you like it when women speak German?

>tyrolean accent
oh you

Attached: aaaaaaa.jpg (364x304, 28K)

Well we had some guy 12 years ago who actually mad the accent fun

youtube.com/watch?v=4mNDYWhRSaw&index=3&list=RDj-78QcTEhbM

>ACH! C'EST LA GUERRE!

it's very sharp and not exactly pleasant, but it does sound sophisticated and smart

bestial grunts
slavic languages: always singing
other romance languages: autistic

>Do you like it when women speak German?
I like it when they speak Bavarian like here: youtube.com/watch?v=IKF0HfSg_oo
