I wonder what would be different if the Nordic countries kept using runes.

There's a small village in Sweden where they have their own norse language called "älvdalsk" and is closer to languages like Faroese and Icelandic than Swedish. They're also famous for having used runes all up to the 19th century. Pretty fascinating stuff.

We use runes here well into the 16th if I recall correctly, and we have an icelandic rune alphabet as well
We should unironically go back to runes

I don't know why Runes were even abandoned in the first place
