When I was a kid in the 90's he was extremely popular, back in the 80's he was even more popular. They issued some 10 million comic every year back then, for a country that had some 4 million people that's pretty impressive. Interest died in the middle of the 00's, today they only issue the magazine twice a month and they predict they will stop issuing it at all in the next decade.
