Ashkenazifag here. >Be artist >Next series to be made out of precious materials >Have 40k towards project >Need 80k more
Art financing is weird, any tips? My gallery, and other successful artists have suggested pre-selling the first edition of the for the production budget.
This would mean I’m then exhibiting and passing along the entirety of the proceeds to the financier, which I’m fine with.
what does you being an ashkenazi jew have to do with anything at all? fuck off idiot
Levi Phillips
> Be an artist > Expect to be handed free money > Complains
How about you work in a real job, then follow your worthless passion.
Anyone can be an artist, it doesn't take skill. It's fucking useless.
Juan Evans
>jew >modern art You should know exacetly what you do.
Nicholas Gonzalez
I’m a partner in a few business, I do strategy work. If you’re not into art as a commodity that’s fine, but the scales of this social mechanism are tipped in my favor so long as I can finance it.
That part was bait, homie.
Brandon Ramirez
Yep. Everything is taken care of beyond the initial cost. Exhibitions, publicity, access to a client pool, all of it.
Carson Bennett
ok, whats the point of this thread?
Adam Ortiz
Hoping to engage the business focused community in a discussion around this niche of financing.
Brayden Carter
Specifically looking for tips, and to potentially work through any criticism in a safe space.
Carson Scott
you got that wrong, Jow Forums is the crypto board. Nobody here has anything to do with real business stuff.
Wyatt Sanders
Ugh, I was afraid that was the case - care to direct me somewhere else? Would appreciate it.
Christopher Williams
why would trolls give you tips on how to run your business? sounds like you already got it all working fine.
Kevin Smith
Seems like a lot of money to give to an artist. Do you have a portfolio ?
Xavier Hill
I mean, it’s a really specific area to finance in, I could always use new connections - and I wouldn’t imagine that everyone in this community are trolls.
Daniel Miller
maybe reddit or something, heard they have such subreddits about real life business stuff, can‘t really provide a link tho because I never hang out there but I know it exists.
Jacob Rivera
40k for piece 80k for exhibit promo, etc. is this correct? looking for breakdown on profit from selling first edition, other costs. not enough info
Jayden Morales
> Need 120k to make art
Unironically kill yourself
Jason Allen
>sell 1 piece >use profit to fund 2-3 pieces >sell 3 pieces >use profit to fund 6-9 pieces why come you cant do this.
Robert Walker
120k total goes into the production of the work. About 70% is materials. Which means that it’s liquid in a worst case scenario.
There’s a standard 300% markup on all of the work.
In terms of marketing, I’ve run very effective wildposting campaigns in LA for other business and will likely utilize some of that. I also have a few pending interviews on large platforms. The gallery for the first release has an average opening turnout of 500-1000k people. I have grown an Instagram page in a related niche organically to just under 10k followers.
Mason Garcia
it's another i'm a kike thread. stop posting this you fucken oven dodger. worse than a fucken roastie.
Because he's an autistic sperg and should be gassed.
Lucas Peterson
This is the same artist scammer but with a weird jewish twist, isnt it. How long have you been posting these threads, user? 4 months? Longer? When will you stop?
Jace Thompson
Different impact releasing a pieces piecemeal versus as a group. Counts out the ability to exhibit, which is integral in creating the psychological environment that creates value.
Kayden Butler
Thumbs up on the healthy skepticism but I’m not a scammer.
Austin Foster
Certainly. I’d love to send a cv if you’re interested. The throwaway email for Jow Forums is [email protected]
seems like you know what you're doing. not sure i understand the context of the thread
James Rivera
I know how to make the work, I know how to market it, I know how to activate the social mechanism that uplifts art.
Not sure I know how to do this fundraising - it’s very specific and it’s been dragging a bit.
Ian Butler
how is it specific? know peple with money, ask them to invest. what's to know?
Kayden Taylor
How do you get into this?
Noah Sanchez
Hey, I’d love to send you the deck with details but my mobile is not letting my sign into my email.
If you shoot me a message I’d love to get it to you when I’m in front of my computer.
Email is here:
Austin James
I work with a lot of artists. I’ve made a lot of connections that way.
I also just have a propensity for it. I do strategy and marketing work, and whether or not we want to accept it, it’s necessary for an artist to be thinking about.
Ethan Gonzalez
I don't blame you would you imagine it's easier to get a foot in the door in art than in tech? or the other way around?
Leo Hill
Investors often want equity in a model, not in a project. It also relies on shared trust of the sociocultural relevance and aesthetic power of the work. These are complex considerations that not everyone is naturally geared towards.
In that way it’s pretty specific.
Isaac Thomas
Definitely the other way around. Tech is far easier to enter in terms of fundraising, the structures for driving popularity are more straightforward and universally understood.
Samuel Taylor
You are a scammer and a notorious samefagger
Jacob Thompson
I’m in and out of the house, my phone hops on an off WiFi. Still not a scammer.
Noah Jackson
>Investors often want equity in a model, not in a project. >These are complex considerations that not everyone is naturally geared towards. yes, i agree. i'm still not sure what tips you're looking for. you know what you're doing. the only recommendation i have is to focus on people who may be interested in investing because they agree with the artist's vision or whatever else and not necessarily in the outcome. true believers, similar to crypto investors. seems like an easier sell to me.
Elijah Ross
>You: “This guy doesn’t behave the exact same way as me, NOT TO BE TRUSTED”
Charles Cook
This is actually brilliant advice. I had been focused on pitching the economics and talking about art as if it’s a marketing direction. Just switched up my deck to reflect this POV though.
Elijah Brooks
Just stop. Get a job and stop all of this.
Jose Reed
I have a job, if you participated in my threads rather than attempting to derail them like an idiot, you would: 1. Already know that, and 2. Be contributing to this community instead of pushing against it.
I’m having a real discussion.
David Watson
Oh look, I’m samefagging!
Brayden Cruz
"go fucking do it then"
not everyone can be an artist, it takes vision
Ian Jenkins
bretty obvious desu. art people are all feels, the money is gravy but not the reason why they're in it.
Daniel Edwards
Right, but I need money people too.
Appreciate you.
Brandon Moore
true. go find some people with money who like your vision and make friends.
Carson Anderson
Yeah, I guess this just a rinse and repeat of the way I secured the first third of the capital then huh?
