What's the perception of Nigeria in your country?

The same perception that Nigerians have about Indians in Nigeria. It’s either

Fun fact, Biafra was a secessionist state back in the late 60s, Nigeria is really just a bunch of random ethnicities lumped together by the British.

Also you just reminded me about the Nigerian prince scam, it's the most famous here of email scams and is sometimes used in jokes.

There are Lot's a Nigerian and Ghanaian students here
Most are ok and well mannered
But some become drug dealers and get shot like that one incident in Delhi just a few weeks ago
Other than Nigeria and Ghana
Most other African foreign exchange students come from Sudan

Also, most Nigerian or African women moonlight as escorts for east money while studying or working here. So, that doesn’t help their general image as well.

In states like Kerala or Tamil Nadu, they’re treated as part of locals and even have some gigs in the film industry if they ever get around to learning the language. The racist prejudiced opinions are still there but they’re not as bad as in the North

No, they don't, this scam supposedly appeared at the start of Internet, it's very old so maybe someone fell ages ago, boomers are very stupid.
I personally don't know anyone falling for it nor haven't heard of anyone falling for it.

OK, important note, I can guarantee that 90% of all scam artists are southern Nigerian, Igbos and Yorubas, the north is Muslim, Biafra and Oyo should've seceeded, but remain as vassals, Those people give us a bad image.

2. Guys who will steal our girls because of BBC
3. Reverse colonialism in practice. Your kind together with Indians will take over the UK. The future of Britain is a Nigerian with an Indian.

I don't care about what ethnic group tries to scam me, you are all the same to me and I won't generalize all Nigerian people for the prince of Nigeria scam.

The reasoning behind this obvious scam is that people that already fall for this crap will believe almost anything and you will be able to convince then to do almost anything. There's people that fall for it, but its rare. And the rare ones are what makes it still profitable apparently.

there was a nigerian in my class for two or three years, i think he was intrested in music and even made a song and the text for it, i think it was soul or rnb. seemed to be a cool guy, if i recall correctly he said his family was moving for london or somewhere else in the uk

anyway, nigerians here are mostly known for human trafficking and drug dealing
can't tell if all those ethnic shops are money laundering or not like the chinese ones

i'm not even italian myself but my first african experience was in italy in the elementary school where a black classmate stole my game boy color and "merely found it" and returned it to me few days later, not sure if nigerian or whatever, name was cedric or cedrique

basically the migrate according to the seasons, in summer they are all over the adriatic riviera in romagna, while in autumn and spring they move to lombardy, piemonte, etc in northern italy

i think this happens in the southern italy too
basically the prostitutes in here are mostly romanian, nigerian plus some latino ones and their trannies

we used to greet the african and romanian prostitutes from our schoolbus around the lunch hour when we were returning home

i see, it's not just a meme, it happens everywhere then

Nearly all of the ones ive met have been students, and mist of them have been nice. Fela Kuti made some good albums in the 70s, and things Fall Apart is one of the best novels written since WWII.
