Words I've learned today (so far)

遅刻
急ぐ

ヨダレ
白血病

Words I'll remember tomorrow

Probably most of all of them since I've started exercising and it's really helping my memory.

*most or all

だから不可能じゃないと言ったのに。とにかく、その文章は文法面と単語面から見ると大したことじゃなく、どう見ても別に複雑な要素もない。
DJTは大多数の人達は日本語で書くのに興味がないから、従って訓練しない。癖になったお前にはここ誰も日本語ができないんじゃないとしか見えないかも。だが、ここの人たちの日本語能力は初心者の質問がない限り、ただ目立たなくて表面に浮かないというわけだと思う。

>pass N1 in only 2.5 years (+half a decade but let's pretend I wasn't)
so many cases

N1 really isn't difficult to do in 2.5 years

JLPT is trash because it doesn't test your せやなs and アホs

せやな

Is 帰る always implying that you're going back home?

Only 90% of the time

So which is it? になる or がある?

>免疫になる
implies you become immune to something
>免疫がある
there is immunity (taken on by you) to something.

Considering that you're the biggest crybaby in the thread I doubt it

Is it true Japs are massive liars and will compliment you on your Japanese even if it's shitty and broken?

Did they deliberately mistranslate this? His name is Sweet Mask and the joke is that he's not actually sweet. Why'd they change it to soft?

WHERE IS MY GOOGLE IME'S PERSONAL DICTIONARY SAVED?

I'm using two user in my computer and I want to keep the words synched, so I'd like to point one of the user's to the current one's dictionary path.

see it's more like their politeness goes full circle and becomes ironic/condescending

>ヨダレ
Dude stop doing that and learn kanji

Is it true that Americans are complete liars and will reply to "How are you?" with "Great" even though they're not feeling great?

I kind of get it though, like if someone who hasn't lived in Finland for long came and talked to me in understandable Finnish, I'd be pretty impressed. I don't know why the fuck they would choose to learn this language, but cool I guess.
Also people generally don't want to be rude to strangers

Alright if you can show me it being written in kanji somewhere I'll memorize it.

Attached: Capture.png (577x196, 5K)

Seen it thousand of times. It's your loss if you don't learn it.

You may come across this phrase hundreds of times even in mangas and so on..

Attached: drooling.jpg (990x585, 102K)

Then just show me an example.

I think it is a general custom worldwide that if you want honest criticism, you have to ask for it

If you are just learning 遅刻 there is no reason to waste your time learning the kanji 涎 at this point. Or 白血病 for that matter.

Dammit none of the sites are working for me.

Sure you don't have to say: "wow, your finnish is terrible!" but in the same vein if someone were to talk to me in barely decipherable german I wouldn't compliment them on it when we both know that it's shit. Different strokes for different folks I guess

not him

Attached: 新世界より01.png (1722x120, 27K)

I may as well. They were on the same page.

If what you're reading uses certain words relatively often you should learn them
I just learn whatever seems useful, or just cool words

NGMI

Particles are rough sometimes. What resource did you find personally helped you with them?

けっく

Dammit I can't connect to the guide. I feel like this is just me.

Google

I hate to come back, but I found some immensely ugly Kanji: 凸凹
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_particles
core6000.neocities.org/dojg/

You're ugly

甘い also has the meaning of lacking in strictness, and soft isn't a bad way to translate it. If you translated 子供に甘い親 as "parents who are sweet to their children" not only would the actual meaning get lost but it would also sound like retarded English. And I don't actually see them talking about his name on that page so maybe it isn't meant to be a pun but I don't know.

I am letting only you see my ugly sides :*

You are still at that rudiment stage..

Hey, at least they're supposed to be JuniorHS+ Kanji

God I wish singapore posted that instead

Why?

3 days free of his autism

His name is Sweet Mask. He says he's not sweet and then does something not sweet. Of course that's the joke.

Attached: Capture.png (1290x925, 1.44M)

I unironically appreciate you doing it in this manner even when I am not asking for it.
>>dick and "balls"
you should delve more deeper..
Yes, and that'd be your one of your first treasures unlocked.

I am just curious as to why this Chinese cartoon went so viral among them..?

No clue, I assume it was one of the few translated Animes back in their youth.

...

Even if it is it still wouldn't be a "mistranslation," just some wordplay that didn't get through. I don't actually care, I hate reading translations by other people, but I also hate people who aren't actually translators nitpicking translations for not being literal enough when they claim to know Japanese better than the translator and therefore shouldn't need to be looking at translations in the first place.

jisho.org/word/甘い

It's such an obvious joke though. There's no way they didn't understand it.

Something I've wondered about: do the Japanese really do irony at all?
Everyone says they don't so sarcasm, but what about, like, aesthetic irony? Or multi-layered post-irony? That sort of thing.

Sarcasm is definitely a thing. Dunno about irony, but honestly the world would be a better place without irony.

Maybe they just thought "I'm not that sweet" sounded dumb.
t. inclined to agree

Why

What shit translators.

Attached: 05.jpg (1280x1809, 555K)

It has lead to the decline of the internet

Why do you care so much about fucking translations you dont even need shitcunt

Maybe its quality control

Maybe you should start doing your own translations. I bet you'd be fantastic at it, and make the true nature of the Japanese language really shine through. You could become the translator that the English-speaking world has always deserved, the only one with a real understanding of the Japanese experience. All the EOPs will look up to you as a messiah.

In reality you can just machine translate and the EOPs will praise you
You don't even fucking have to typeset properly, I've seen some horrible things and people don't seem to mind at all.

Brb, going to machine translate some stuff and release it as /jp/djt/

>I've seen some horrible things
僕も

Attached: 1511197690137.jpg (872x658, 108K)

I've... seen things you people wouldn't believe...

Maybe its Maybeline

I wish there was still low hanging fruit for machine translation so that I could try to improve on a Japanese to English machine translation system in my own time.

In fact I know next to nothing about NLP for Japanese. I should look into it.

To read this page I had to learn the words for "Duke", "rural, "to be driven away" and "local product"

Do you think I should bother remembering them?

Attached: 2.jpg (1280x1808, 383K)

海底撈月
I'm gonna learn this for no reason

I DONT WANT TO DO MY REPS TODAY!
FUCK!

Attached: djt78.png (1400x1000, 968K)

Then don't. Anki past a certain point is time you could be spending actually participating in the language.
