Jow Forums doesn't drown out opposing opinions with downvotes, every opinion is valued equally. While its true that means really stupid opinions get seen, it also means that correct facts that go against the overarching narrative get heard.

I would say it varies by the subreddit. You can actually discuss film and themes over there, on /tv/ it's capeshit or twitter garbage.

I don't know which boards you've visited but I've learned more from reddit in a day than I learn from 4chins in a year. Every so-called "discussion" here quickly devolves into the most banal exchange of insults and spamming of stale memes. 4chinners like to call it a leftist haven, yet it's actually much more balanced politically than this site.

They narrowed it down pretty good too just from random old things I had said like 'as a geography student..' or whatever. Now I never post anything on their unless its trolling. I cant go 5 minutes without getting banned from my city's sub.
