Is crypto an IBM meme now?

Another fucking contract for IBM. Feel like every major corporation is going with them for '''blockchain''' related projects. Did they win crypto Jow Forums?

should've foreseen that nobody will buy our shitcoins and get well established names in the industry to roll out blockchain tech for them

"and other new technologies"

they'll experiment with blockchain and then toss it aside where it belongs

I can't wait to see what retarded conspiracy theories come out of this. I'l start.
IBM built their first computer with technology appropriated from the Germans after the last great war. This is part of their plan to make a fourth Reich.

ibm is a headless dinosaur behemoth trying to cash in on the "blockchain's underlying technology not bitcoin" meme

ive been all in on xlm since october of last year. The only other coins ill consider buying if they go low enough are mobi and link.

If they are getting $700 million I'd say they are doing a pretty good job.

People need to realise that these "private blockchains" have all the disadvantages of blockchains with none of the advantages that permissioned databases have over blockchains. It's lose lose. Public blockchains are the only way to guarrantee security. We've still got a long way to go before they are usable though. We need scaling badly and also need everything to be private. I'm hoping that ETH can come through with the goods though because this is literally what they are trying to achieve. Scaling with Plasma/Casper/Sharding, and turning everything private with ZK-Snarks/Starks.

>People need to realise that these "private blockchains" have all the disadvantages of blockchains with none of the advantages that permissioned databases have over blockchains. It's lose lose.

This. It's incredible how these big companies and big money institutions still don't get it. Most of the big institutions are STILL at the "blockchain good cryptocurrency bad" and "private blockchains" stage. It's unbelievable really.

IBM literally sold them a $700 million meme
THE ABSOLUTE STATE OF AUSTRALIA

They want to use decentralized technology while still maintaining central power over it. They will definitely lose in the end.

yep
guess what shit theyre gonna be shilling to every 8+ figure company in a few months

PREPARE THE STINKYSNAKE MOTHERFUCKERS

it's like camping in a motor home.

its like intranets in the beggining of the internet....the public network was considered insecure and not scalabla....but as public internet infrastructure grew and scaled pretty well and how secure communications (cryptography ssl) were developed, private corporate/institutions intranets became a meme

Is that a picture of a CHAINLINK???

Wow didn't know this history. Thanks user.

The private/pseudo decentralized blockchain is only good for redundant storage or full service solutions for record/data integrity. There's no other reason to my best knowledge.

wow, governments are throwing money away what a surprise

don't worry they can just raise taxes remember you work for the government

>good for redundant storage or full service solutions for record/data integrity
oh wow, I can't believe this actual application get's favoured over some weird ass cryptocurrency projects

IBM is a tech meme.
They have nothing real to offer, so they attach themselves to whatever the current tech trend is.

Before blockchain it was deep learning, before deep learning it was AI, before AI it was "business intelligence" etc etc.

IBM is a giant scam these days. Steve Jobs would be proud to see what he's reduced them to.

the potential of blockchain is unlimited. But no research goes into it since its more profitable to make shitcoins and the word/tech/concept is tied to this shitty market

IBM was the only show in town back in the day. Then better came along and the rest is history

Almost like....bitcoin?

for now

You ever heard of The Cathedral and the Bazaar, brainlet?

Yeah, this. Before you lament that companies use private solutions and not your shitcoins consider what the actual fuck this tech is for. The government is supposedly for the people you know, they have to keep up appearances sometimes. You know why this was a deal the govt had to sign and not a simple agreement to work together? IBM knows nobody wants a private blockchain solution when public ones will do the same thing and be more trustworthy. So they had to force a deal. Aussies your govt fell for it.

700 fucking millions lmao

I say this everytime I see an IBM commerical during the Masters. Its a total mystery to me how their stock is worth what it is and that theyre even staying afloat. Shit company.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

respect IBM motherfucker. They're probably doing stuff no one heard of, not publicly available

So because IBM don't release a new batch of shit phones every year they're irrelevant? Absolute state of this place. IBM is backbone infrastructure shit, exactly the kind of environment where crypto would thrive.

do you expect anything more from crypto kiddies? 70% of fuckers here only know how to transfer between exchanges and shitposting Jow Forums

>Backbone infrastructure shit
You don't know what the backbone is, do you desu?

Its amazing how little discussion hyperledger gets. Guess which oracle token has built in integration with it

Their parents are public. IBM luvs them patents

You mean the open-source hyperledger?

Yes, Fabric, the one developed by IBM

every single one? dont think so.. besides who the fuck reads patents, surely not the 'public'

>777
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Journalists do. You can filter parents by company and keywords. Journalists provide a decent service sometimes to the illiterate 'public' like yourself

*Patents
Yes, the patent office shows all the filings online

>crypto startup with dubious fundraising mechanisms and teammembers
>Established public company IBM
Yeah I wonder why they're going with IBM.

why black people hands
there no fucking black cunts in australia

>not reading patents
>illiterate
boy we have a brainiac here, is that what you spend your lonely weekends doing?

No, i read the dictionary on the weekends, duh

>Journalists provide a decent service sometimes
I can count the number of actual journalists in the world on one hand, sadly

Agreed. Politicians get a pay rise, banks get a tax cut, students get fucked harder with student loan repayments.
Seriously fuck this shithole

thank you user

I absolutely cannot believe IBM can sell this "private blockchain" shit...it completely defeats the purpose of a blockchain! Let's use a far slower and less energy efficient private database! It's the worst of both worlds, and the fact that IBM can sell this is a testament to how little most of the world understands about this technology and what it was invented for

yes user
