I blame it on Portugal.

Moonlettugaal.

You think they lost one of our moons?

It's not called a moon. That's just the name of Earth's satelite.

Thats not a satellite
Sattelites go beep boop

Nice

>Idon'tknowwhattugal

Fun fact: it used to have 2 moons

Sad fact: it only has 1 now

What happened to the other moon?

It either:
A) got eaten by the current moon, thus making is a hell of a lot bigger
B) slammed into Earth after getting too close

I like a), i hope nobody got hurt during b)

>tfw moonlet

If anyone got hurt during situation B is was bacteria as this was back when life was either in its real early stages on earth or non-existent

I think the consensus is that there was a different moon originally, but then it slammed into Earth and the debris became the current moon. I think they did a geological study of the moon that supported this.

poor bacteria :(

No it didn't.
It wasn't a moon. If it was a moon it wouldn't have fucking collided with the planet.

It was a planetoid, likely from the outer system, that came in and had a collision. Much of the debris stayed in orbit and formed a ring that eventually coalesced into the Moon.

imagine being a moonlet

>If it was a moon it wouldn't have fucking collided with the planet.
But they say Mars' moons will end up doing so.

Pluto has 3 moons and one is almost as big as it
Venus used to have a moon but it most likely became Mercury
