Have you tried making other kinds of alcohol? I'm contemplating learning how to make mead so I can be self sufficiently drunk.

mead is pretty easy but quite expensive to make. there are good guides online, just google it. I think there's even a wiki for homebrewers somewhere

If getting drunk as cheap as possible is the objective there is no better alternative to kilju. I can also recommend the red wine mix found in supermarkets, it makes really shit red wine but it's ok if you make sangria out of it
