Why don't other countries microwave their water? Isn't it cheaper and more efficient to do so?

Our powerpoints have higher voltage
use an eletric kettle you downie yank
because some countries are first world
We're voltagelets
it puts cancer in the water
You have to be 180m above sea level to be first world, sorry
i have legitimately never seen one of those things in my life
I boil it in a pot on the stove
then again I am doing so in an 19th century 3 storey home in the alps, but still
welcome to the 20th century
They're afraid of the radiation. Which makes no sense. They'd rather heat it in electric kettles with plastic internals.
thats what I hear, at least reading amazon reviews for electric kettles. they all say its full of plastic that contracts the water. microwaving seems far safer and cleaner.
Here, have some (You)'s; (You) (You) (You) (You) (You) (You) (You) (You) (You) (You) (You) (You) (You) (You) (You) (You) (You) (You)
I hope that'll help you refrain from shitposting for at least a moment.
We're also afraid of corn syrup in every fucking product and having iron in our ice cream
Electric kettles take too long here because our outlets are weak. It's much faster to microwave it or boil water on the stove top
Really hit a nerve with that one, huh?
I always found it curious why you insist on the weak outlets. Is it just to cut costs?
Both tradition and the fact that updating to a 240V system would be annoyingly expensive
More modern homes have 240V electric systems
Don't blame me if you get anemia.
Most homes are 240 capable, but usually reserve that for central air and heavy appliances. Light appliances are all designed to use 120 here.
Everything tastes worse out of the microwave - even water
Nah, microwave is viable for a lot of things. Boiling water isn't one of them though.
I see. I guess it would cause a lot of problems to make the shift now, maybe one day.
An immediate shift would cause many problems, hence why it is being slowly phased out
well, at least more and more appliances come with internal power supplies that can work with both 120 and 240 so the companies can sell them pretty much all around the world instead of to a fraction of it
