Séasúir buachaill mór
Have done absolutely nothing productive in any way whatsoever in weeks, lads
Apex is a pretty productive way to spend the weekend.
>in the car with oul' father
>he puts on some loud boomer rock
>one of the songs he puts on is the one where Slash says "your dad gets more pussy than you" and swears a lot
God bless the mid term.
I see that protesting outside the homes of government ministers is in vogue among fringe activist types these days. I guess they got tired of making a nuisance of themselves during evictions and decided to spice things up a bit.
Cad é an miniú litriúil ar "séasúir" san abairt seo?
>local woman calls out asylum protesters
>"are any of you even from here?"
Today was slightly more productive than yesterday, but still not great. I should really feel more refreshed heading into what I know is going to be a busy week, but I'm already exhausted.
According to unverified claims I've read online, a lot of the "Refugees Welcome" crowd who congregated outside the hotel were not locals.
Anyone watching the ESA marathon next week?
Season
They're paid "activists" or loons who do it for free. Cranks and shills.
I sure wish the media would draw attention to the fact that most of them are not locals. RTÉ has a nasty habit of censorship by omission on any issue related to immigration.
>big boy season
I don't get it
It's a meme, although not a big one.
Who do you think RTE is working for? That's all part of their plan.
People running? Seems boring to me

Murdered three caliphs in duels a row because he thought it would be a good idea to vassalise my psycho-barbarian African king. Lol
Lads, can you get into astrophysics if you only did ordinary level maths? I want to be a space science man
Only if you did it because you thought higher wasn't enough of a challenge to justify doing. Because at the end of the day it's just more maths...
Yes, you can do an entrance math test. However if you did ordinary maths or struggle with very difficult maths it's really not recommended.
T. NUIG graduate and secondary school teacher
>secondary school teacher
Revive this dead shithole with some entertaining stories please
Not much stories worth telling to be honest. A lot of work, dealing with anti social older teachers who feel threatened by younger ones coming in, (most like myself have a Masters in Education, rather than a Mickey Mouse Diploma) kids are kids, pay is subpar. AMA I guess.
>most like myself have a Masters in Education, rather than a Mickey Mouse Diploma
lmao

Oh no, the poor politicians might be held accountable!
Seriously, shit like this is why universal suffrage is an awful mistake. Women seem to love nothing more than increasing the amount of spending the government does for them.
Are you some sort of "regular" on this /éire/ generals?
t. Fringe "action group" nutter.
Protest at their constituency offices or at the Dáil if you must. People's private homes should be off limits, regardless of what their profession is. Intimidating them and their families during their time off will just taint whatever message you're trying to convey.
It should be illegal to complain the government isn't spending enough on the housing crisis or whatever, yet readily accept or even advocate for this nonsense
No
>this much acceptance of anglo democracy
Pathetic
>Intimidating them and their families
Imaging being this terrified of picketing
I would agree if the politicians in question were more than just scum.
>Imaging being this terrified of picketing
I wouldn't like my house being picketed on the weekends for work-related reasons. I'd feel confined and unwilling to leave my home.
Scum is a highly loaded term and in this context is highly subjective. That aside, I was surprised to see Bruton's house been picketed considering he tends to fly below the radar.
>Imaging being this terrified of picketing
Those men were ready to drown Joan Burton. They had a pool filled and everything.
Christianity is a dire religion
Literally some cult stolen by the Romans who added loads of made-up shite to get more money and have it better suit their culture
Day of the pool when?
Nope.
When you take the pay and wear the uniform of the state you have to accept responsibility for the state's actions. In the case of this state's actions, picketing is an extremely tame form of protest considering its crimes.
What?
>When you take the pay and wear the uniform of the state you have to accept responsibility for the state's actions
In a professional capacity, but not in a private capacity. Unless you commit a crime in public office of course.
>They had a pool filled and everything.
If we had water charges, they wouldn't have been able to afford filling that pool.
>In a professional capacity, but not in a private capacity.
Yet this government continues to play down their faults when confronted in a "professional capacity", so if it must being taken a step farther so be it
>"The government isn't doing exactly what I want it to do, so lets all just act like knackers with no morals"
The government is a bunch of ________ with no morals, and that's what they want the people to behave like (with success). They don't deserve deference or respect let alone loyalty.
>2 billion children's hospital
>Abortion
>Stuffing migrants into small towns against their wishes
That's just what comes to mind
You sound like a Journal.ie commenter, and I wager that most people don't hold such reactionaries in very high esteem.
>I wager that most people don't hold such reactionaries in very high esteem.
I don't hold them in high esteem either.
Vote them out in the next election then. We get the politicians that we vote for.
I don't care about "most people". 67% of the Irish voting public could disappear and I'd be fine with it if it was the right 67%.
At least that percentage are too stupid and/or cowardly to hold any opinions other than those that the powerful factions with control over the media and government would impose on them. So why care what they think as if they're deep-souled individuals who are required to make an internal spiritual transformation for society to be improved?
>Vote them out in the next election then. We get the politicians that we vote for.
What part of what I said is untrue?
You have to be willing to fight for what you want. You have to really believe in something instead of drizzling the cum of those in charge no matter what they do.
>You have to be willing to fight for what you want
And protesting outside a politician's private dwelling during his time off achieves this how exactly? Most people seemed to be of the opinion that protesting outside Harris's house last weekend was a bad idea and even the INMO condemned it at the time.
If voting threatened the power elite, it would not be allowed. You believe the idea that "democracy" grants you optimal government on the face of it, and you accept the premises that circularly close off any escape from that line of thinking without rejecting them.
There's also the fact that the government at the minute was not voted for. Gay indian is not my "taoiseach".
>There's also the fact that the government at the minute was not voted for. Gay indian is not my "taoiseach".
>this bullshit again
Do you people have no idea how a parliamentary democracy actually works?
And I stand by my statement that we get the politicians we vote for. It's factually correct.
It tells them that you're pissed off about what they're doing. You are right, the protest only served to weaken their cause, but that has nothing to do with whether it should be allowed or not.
Ireland 2040 promises a black baby in every Irish womb.
There's a difference between understanding how a parliamentary democracy works and liking it.
>but that has nothing to do with whether it should be allowed or not.
True, but I still don't think it's right. Protest at their place of work if you must.
who are some good Irish pornstars?
Suggest an alternative. Personally I'm in favour of an devolved technocratic monarchy.
Fuck, replied to the wrong post
>ignoring all the systematic factors which limit who is allowed to be voted for and who is given a chance to run, and what they could do presuming they got into power
>ignoring the factors which predetermine the direction of "democratic discourse" which are outside the ability of electors to vote
If you had two brain cells to rub together you'd realise that the NGO and media industries in this country are state-funded and operated by a mutually reinforcing caste, not some organic outgrowth of a pre-existing "democratic" entity.
I saw a quote the other day, where some guy said more or less "democracy is the conceit that my wife and I together have twice the influence over the direction of society that David Rockefeller has". That's what your "democracy" is worth, you fucking moron.
Artificially intelligent accelerationist neo-Gaelic techno-autocratic imperium
I think our ideals may have much in common.
I was only explaining user's stance. A direct democracy like Switzerland would probably be what he's looking for.
Can't wait until the new star wars bombs so I don't have to care about it ever again
I though Serbia was a huge porn producer?
Where did I even imply that the current system is close to ideal? But unless you're testing the waters for some sort of popular uprising, hassling public representatives at their private residences is a waste of time, morally questionable, and only harms public perception of your cause.
>implying Disney won't keep trying to make it work for decades to come
>he thinks episode IX will be the end
Disney has long-term plans for Star Wars. There will be still be Star Wars movies in theatres when we're all dead and gone. One can only imagine what agenda-pushing and pandering will grace the silver screen in such progressive times.
It's hard to say really. It's an unprecedented situation. Marvel films will continue at least until all the non-avenger characters have run their course and they need to reboot them.
But they've fucked up with how they handled the new series.
>not planning out the three-film series, let alone the overall EU and future plans
>getting JJ abrams and r**n j*hns*n to write the movies
>overdosing the public with crappy pointless films like rogue one and soylo
They will stop if it's no longer proftiable.
>this general is sustained by roughly 15 people
Are we the chosen ones?
We are the vanguard of the revolution
>They will stop if it's no longer proftiable.
It will never be unprofitable.
What if they threw a star wars film but nobody showed up?
I understand now why no one likes us Ulster fags...
Will it be a weekend revolution? It's just that I work Monday to Friday and I'm generally tired after work.
No more work. The onions and the foreigners will toil in the mines for the anime elite and their holographic waifus
>>getting JJ abrams
They fell for the RLM meme.
>>not planning out the three-film series
This is what gets me the most. The OT had plans taken from the original, much longer draft of Star Wars even if they changed and condensed it down. The prequels had their basic layout thought out back in the 80's, right down to Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting on a lava planet. I find it so bizarre that one of the biggest corporations in the world couldn't get a few writers to sit down and plan some plotlines out instead of starting production immediately and winging it.
>The onions and the foreigners will toil in the mines for the anime elite and their holographic waifus
That sounds great and all, but how exactly will onions toil for us?
YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BRING BALANCE TO /éire/ NOT LEAVE IT IN /marbh/
>They fell for the RLM meme.
I thought RLM don't like JJ?
"Women, gays and minorities now have rights in modern Ireland isn't that great!"
Me, a gamer: >:(
Yikesanon, this is actually a half decent thread. Please go make some OC or something. We're still awaiting the sequel to your magnum opus.
>They fell for the RLM meme.
RLM were fools. JJ Abrams was the worst possible person they could have gotten.
Look what happened to the star trek "reboot". It petered out by the third film. The thing is, Star Trek is less of an unwieldy behemoth and the way they made the reboot was as an "alternate timeline", so if it worked they could have continued indefinitely, but if it didn't (and it didn't), they could just go back to the old timeline.
First thing Disney did was delete the entire old EU. Now they're just filling in the blanks like a child with crayons "painting by numbers" over the exact same path as the old EU. Rogue One and Soylo were retreads of plotlines that were dealt with in the old EU, and there wasn't any real improvement over them.
And I suggest we all loosen up a bitín. It's called the vanguard PARTY for a reason
They said that JJ would be a great fit for directing Star Wars back in their prequel review. They felt his Star Trek was more Star Wars than anything else.
Have you tried rising up?
Have you ever thought about the pre-packaging of those categorisations? And that there might be relations and "identities" which are more significant and important for how a society actually functions?
Why is the bottom of the u and t in "brutally" coloured blue?
There will be no parties or "looseness" in the Prussia of the West.
In case you can't read, this is an /éire/ general so none of us would've been knights or gotten into any wars since the English basically enslaved us as soon as they learnt how to boat
No, it took 600 years to properly stick.
>Prussia of the West
>wanting to be the Land-Based England of the East of the West with added erasure from history
Also we're not warmongers, so anyway a lot of us would of probably been priests and monks anyway
We'll learn from Prussia's mistakes. As you can see, we have already tactically surrounded ourselves with water. So no more land invasions by the French.
