what if
what if Skycoin will be a worldwide success and it will change the life as we know it?!
will it change our behaviour?
can you imagine how that could work? what are the scenarios? and what could be so different from the current network?

SKY is old news, INITIATIVE Q is the next world currency. get some free here, its invite only.
interesting exercise of imagination, especially now when few still believe in this
anything that becomes a common practice shapes behavior so relying on >>trust
wutt I see first is the biggest war in the history sky vs. isp companies
let's get real hard to win that
what if is not that hard??
the war is ON right now and ok, it will get insane.
sky is not alone, the power of community will help in replacing the ISPs.
what if we will share both costs/profits?
wouldn't motivate us to get rid of ISP?
Roger Ver, Jihan Wu, Calvin Ayre, The 8btc mod (19hZx234vNtLazfx5J2bxHsiWEmeYE8a7k), Jiang Zhouer, the bitcoin.com cofounder, the Coinbase founder - all BILLIONAIRES who can complete the flippening with their own cash TODAY.
They're not doing so because they'd rather invest in BCH adoption. BCH adoption is skyrocketing while btc adoption is dropping.
In a few years both St Kitts and Antigua will use BCH as their main currency (Roger is working on St Kitts, Calvin is investing in Antigua more money than their GDP exclusively because of BCH adoption), Craig Wright will increase transaction counts by circumventing corrupt governments in Africa for money transfers (this one is not certain but very possible considering his funding), Roger is speaking to VIP-s every other day, including Japanese bank CEO-s, stock exchange owners, etc. Brian Armstrong will push BCH and shit on BTC subtly every chance he gets, bitcoin.com wallet is the most popular mobile wallet and it literally shits on BTC, propaganda/censorship effects are fading, Purse just added BCH meaning that normies can use it to get 20% discounts on amazon, Koreans love BCH and they seem to matter at least as much as Americans and significantly more than eurofags, miners are looking for ways to destroy BTC in the next few years otherwise their profits will crumble, LN is proving more and more of a failure every single day, Wright will patent-troll startups into moving into BCH, tipping on github is now possible with bch, smart contracts are coming in November, stress tests are a massive success, charities are popularizing BCH in struggling countries (Venezuela today, others will join in if trouble arises), Free Society project is progressing well, Circle is adding BCH next few weeks, Ayre who became a billionaire from gambling is going to create BCH-only online casinos
I want to lick her feet
What will mobilize a community to provide network for eachother in the first place?? Our comfy zone is too comfy, to put it like that, this is too dreamy
It won't be as bad as you might think. They'll pretty much be able to fire all their call center staff and provide backbone support in strategic places.
Gains. Right now my DIY skyminer earns me about $250/mo.
I imagine how I kidnap my neighbor and cash in his earnings, Synth s experience is inspirational
it s really not about getting rid of the ISP, that is silly. skycoin as a blockchain 3.0 currency might be a good bet, and digital money will eventually take over fiat. it remains to be seen in what form, i m not sure the world bankers are interested in untraceable money. most likely they are not. but since the black market always embraces this kind of thing, alts will survive one way or the other
Succes change the people's behavior, but also depend what kind of success. The most important is to keep the community strong and encourage others to join the community. The bigger, the better and also success is build in a different way
Wtf are you saying? It is about getting rid of isp Big Time!! Thatz what the word "decentralized" and "P2P" means. U make the deal with your neighbor
Do you know what we have now?
>>Socialized costs and private profits
still thinking of it. so if Sky goal will be achieved, I think it will change everything.
decentralization as a reality will set up a precedent and the community will want more.
It will.look up for the political power, hard to imagine the outcome, too complex. what do you think?can we have a decentralized democratic state with no authority?
pray to god to get successful, holding this full bag of sky,. wany my $$ back and some more on top
what I think'll be different from the current network is the privacy.
what if I won't have to worry about anyone selling my data and browsing history, about having my bandwidth trolled by internet providers?
when filling wifi forms in airports or access net in any public spaces, the poor download and upload speeds, all of these put your time, energy, money and data in danger.
this change would mean a lot to me
These Sky threads always have the same three pajeets who barely know English. Get fucked.
I think you are right. Iungo.network wants to be a globally distributed wifi provider. OISP wants to be something similar to sky and there are many more out there.
What we face now is a huge competition for 'the next internet platform' position
The idea of decentralization , and the fact that you can become an owner, and of course a way of earning money. Not everyone is staying in the comfort zone. Me personally, I would go all in in this kind of projects. I am backing their ideas and vision a lot, I really hope they will become successful as they deserve. :)
what's the profit for sky then? if costs/profits are between peers, why they bother to do this if there's no profit?
calm the fuck down u all delusional
They are going to start selling hardware
great titiiiizz, mnom mnom, cute pantiezzz
there are several problems that need to be addressed when talking about dcentralized internet..
1st is Mass Adoption - change is hard and people dont change until the process of changing becomes less painful than sticking to the status quo
2nd Extra responsibility. Here s a quote from a recent MIT article:
“[M]ost users are not ideologically motivated and have no interest in shouldering the additional cost and responsibility of running these complex systems directly,”
The responsability of maintenance will be upon the users.
3rd Corporate cartels, large companies with servers that currently make what we call the internet. Those in power will try and hold to that power.
The more of these problems Skywire is able to tackle on the long run, the better. If they keep up the good work and with the support of the community they have a good chance making decentralized internet a reality.
lobby. do sky have any sit at this table? or is just the rebellious child?
I see this success going in two direction.
First scenario, sky community will grow tremendously, so will the sky team and projects, gaining visibility. All the devices they are promoting will go out.
Second scenario, the success will bring a certain risk in having a quick drop down, sometimes the bigger the success the bigger the fall can be.
rd Corporate cartels, large companies with servers that currently make what we call the internet. Those in power will try and hold to that power.
it's happening, Who do u think is funding the fud?
A smash before the rise. i'd do the same of I'd be an isp
Isp won't give up so easily on $billions d'uh. they'll put up a good fight. so sky will have to keep up with 2 fights at once: isp & others who have the same goal as sky
I need more sources of credibility to get the imagination going.
Like, for example, if sky could make westeen union to join the fleet, would be a great gain! Rght now WU is not happy with ripple cause it's inefficient so there is room for sky to actt and get WU on fiber
Success do not necessary comes with a quick drop down. If Sky will find a balance to stay on the market without drama, then there is a big chance for them to gain success and stay there.
Why do you necessarily involve Western Union in this question. I don't think their success depend on Western Union to be honest. Depends on what other project they bring in their platform, hardware, other devices, the value on the coin market and so on...
having wu on your platform is a big deal, it's the biggest exchange out there.
I agree with the guy. they r lookin for a blockchain platform and ripple is no fuckin blockchain, is just consensus oriented. wu is dissatisfied cause there is still high fees and the trial failed. if wu turns its head towards a real blockchain platform ready for their biz, sky could fastly become widly considered
make sense what you are saying, but I don't know what to say about WU. Are they ready to get out from the box and move to blockchain business? If so, sky fiber platform indeed would be a good choice for getting into the business
it's not just wu, everyone will join the blockchain, better be the 3rd generation, wondering how the 4th d look like
the most well argued thread of 2day
wjat r u guys eating?!
>>Fully customizable
>>Private
>>Visa-like speed
>>Autonomy and full control
>>Wallets, exchange for trading tokens, hardware
>it would change the internet as we know it today, replacing many of the existing protocols
a new internet to replace TCP or IP and provide mesh network type functionality at the hardware level with applications such as social media and private VPN on top, distributing self validating, immutable data P2P -transactions, blocks, content, addressable storage- building almost anything on those two building blocks
>SPO Miners development
>Hardware development
>CXO
>Skycoin
>Skycoin wallet
>KittyCash
Aren’t they successful already?
If sky really want to become successful as your profecy, then they fuckin have to provide something to the community. So many good futuristic ideas, devices - it is time for them to launch some stuff
