I bring NO breaking news telling you BTC will crash. Multiple sources are confirming this.
No wonder. Island is getting ready to re-use BTC mining data centers for AI technology. Former BTC center will serve this purpose for the next 50 years. e.g. automatic translators, self-driving cars
Add this to the fact that the biggest mining farm in China was flooded.
Now, let's get real. BTC will crash and this was anticipated by SKY long time ago. The project objectives are to cover the issues by adding value through: - skywire - skyminer - fiber - obelisk - other useful devices
heard the news and it's not like everyone is interested in crypto. blockchain is what matters and btc helped the popularization of it. period

>he bought skamcoin at $25
Gavin Cox
Sky needs to do better at launching its high speed private internet. A good idea would be to market that to consumers, but not sure the coverage and the density of the deployed miners allows that. So I guess it can't rely solely on the coin given the current market crash
Carson Hernandez
Are you talking about those 64 board/256 board skyminers that currently are being developed for companies which would want to run/test - 20/50/100 apps within?
Ian Davis
wait until Skywire is bringing affordable and fast internet to countries that lack infrastructure. It can revolutionize the whole developmental system, enabling communities to build their own ISPs... I know it is still under work but looking back to their progress made until now, I think there is a huge chance for it to happen.
Ayden Moore
Bitcoin crashing could help some blockchain 3.0 coins to rise and shine. What happens is good actually since it reveals the flows of crypto and makes way for solutions
Thomas Cox
yes it can be a solution for those who want it. But they will get it a bit later thou, in those countries which are lacking infrastructure ppl are living with $2/day so building their diy is still a fortune.
there is a solution for it. from what I understand diy will get cheaper AND there is the possibility to run just one node for less than $30 and I am sure that in time things will get even more affordable. moreover, after the mass-adoption I believe there will be projects tailored especially for these communities to get the network, like an NGO who is building up DIYs with volunteers and then place them in different locations.
Matthew Jones
NGOs, international organizations, even governments could do that, to support the creation of global open access to meshnet through collaboration with Sky coin. This just popped into my mind as an idea, because of the fact that the Skywire meshnet uses a source routed store-and-forward protocol. So, somehow in these communities can be considered as a business chance.
Nathaniel Lee
where do you think the payments for the Skyminers come from? actual users need to buy bandwidth. this means the 5000 miners deployed need to start selling bandwith to others. i guess this is the tricky part and whether this has traction or not will decide the future of skywire on short term. prob an aggressive campaign would help
Tyler Gray
I run a DIY already whitelisted and own SKY. I even shitpost in the telegram quite regularly, but I tell you to stop. SKY has its purpose, and you guys should stop comparing it to others projects. Why saying BTC will crash when the team only accept BTC for purchasing the official Skyminers? Why did Synth own so much BTC when he was kidnapped, and probably still do? Sky needs to keep the hard work and shut the fuck up unless there is so release or relevant announcement to make. As a supported I really fucking hare your strategies and attitudes regarding PR, fucking brainlets for anything non tech related.
and this is not the idea of Skywire first of all, it caters to at least a medium income in countries with modern infrastructure
Jordan Lee
*hate
Colton Collins
Definitely it can be integrated in a global movement. access to Internet is a right! The same as the one to get informed and free speech and already many poor states have leaders that are applying censorship on their own citizens. UN or even human rights NGOs like Amnesty embrace this
Bentley Cox
this is cool. any news about payments or users that you sell bandwidth to? please share
Ryan Rivera
this is an actual user and supporter of SKYcoin. wtf is wrong with you?
Aaron Wilson
Payments delayed, as the whitelisting was also delayed. No details, as usual. Worst PR in the crypto sphere. But you get used to it. Not like I support it for the money tho.
Parker Reed
Mb SKY should break up with BTC. So what if Synth owns BTC? He can own shit! And SKY can receive shit as payment. The fact that BTC will crash is an idea worth considering. And is not even SKY who says BTC will crash, so I really don't get you. SKY is saying BTC has flaws and has a better version. That's it
Hunter Robinson
ok, it will happen eventually. and you got traffic going on i suppose. was there a way to use the trusted list in the test net? or is it just limited to something as essential as forwarding traffic?
Nathaniel Long
Testnet is just a VPN atm (a really good one). Looking forward for more stuff, specially in regards of smart-contracts on CX.
Hunter Lopez
I do agree, and yes, internet is a right, a source of information and so on. Only what I am wondering is the fact that beside the device - DIY or the official - the knowledge has to be transmitted as well. Anyway I do believe that Skywire and the team behind can have a big influence on it.
Daniel Martin
cool.. is there a way to know how many miners you have in the proximity or not yet? skyguy was talking about a tool but prob not launched yet
Kayden Peterson
Every node location is acknowledged, so it is a matter of time a tool uses that data. But I think we both know we both know about it - I am fine pumping the thread though.
Henry Wilson
BTC might crash, it might be kept alive in a vegetable state. BTC will rise over 6 figures easy. It is a failed project though because POW just doesnt work. You have to get rid of block rewards and make consensus less expensive. No, shithole countries will build skywire just fine on their own. Skywire has the potential to create alot of wealth, that is plenty of motivation for private enterprise to get moving on the project. Also the standards for internet service are low so less expensive equipment can be used.
The whole UN thing with brunhuber is a separate fiber project that will basically be permissioned blockchain with coins under the control of authorities and coinhours being used by the public. This is the kind of shit governments and the elite get hard over.
The fact that Skywire needs nodes to be spread out means that alot of different people will be running the nodes and sharing in the rewards.
Luke Martin
Y is Island so sure about the crash that they make public statements about mining center reusability? i feel like i m missing something
Elijah Nelson
Island is full of shit, the asics are only useable for cryptographic hash functions. Thats what asic stands for, application specific integrated circuit. it has limited instruction set.
Hunter Cruz
Looks like there are plenty of possibilities. Beyond btc is a world of high technology and if btc won't crash dramatically (as most of you expect) it will convert to something else.
Dylan Brown
>No.10181665 very interesting the UN blockchain project. To be honest I never heard about it...
Involving blockchain in international development sector will definitely transform development as we understand it today. Skywire and the Skycoin fiber platform ca be the next tech game changer, which can be in the benefit of those who don’t have access to the 'every day' technology.
Aiden Nelson
Just some of the sectors where it can have an impact > Financial services > Peer-to-peer energy trading >Supply chain >Identity >Fund tracking
James Rivera
at this point BTC is depending way too much on such agglomerations of mining pools that are not invulnerable to natural, political or other kind of hazards
Juan Garcia
Remember when synth was saying it wouldn't dip when it got to binance?
Benjamin Clark
looks like there are around 15 UN entities looking into blockchain
This is interesting for skycoin because ut has the most advanced blockchain I found this link in another thread about sky where Obelisk and Skyledger are mentioned
one of the UN initiatives is related to tracking BTC transactions, yet another reason (besides PoW not working) for those who wish to have privacy over transaction to move forward and quit BTC
Julian Hernandez
I'm all for skycoin being shilled every now and then for people to make some money on some short term pumps but if you hold on to Skycoin for too long I, along with others, guarantee you, you will lose all of your money that you put into it.
Adrian Mitchell
Honestly it sounds like a perfect way to provide internet to tourists. I can think of a lot of tourist hotspots in southern EU (smaller cities and population densities) where 5x 15km radius antennas can cover the whole place and give unlimited wimax internet to a lot of people who would be paying through the ass for some 4g rate-limited gigabytes
I've got the perfect place for an antenna skyminer if skywire goes live this year, tourist hotspots is definitely where this shit's gonna shine
Skynode operators willing to host exit nodes will be able to connect to service providers such as loon and SpaceX's Starlink to do so.
Exit nodes are skyminers connected to a fat line that route a mesh area's data to the rest of the internet. Synth talked about this in the AMA. If city A has a mesh network of 10 antenna skyminers and a couple of exit nodes with gigabyte fiber or loon or starlink, they can serve a lot of people with reliable and low latency 10mbit speeds.
Charles Hall
>Island which island? there's so many...
Ethan Wood
thought you need a licence for WIMAX frequencies. plus, the internet still comes from ISPs so why add another layer? i support skywire but really dont understand the logic behind this
Kevin Myers
You buy "bulk" ISP and provide the barebones service without all the tracking and snooping. You minimize the consumer's exposure to ISP's and can offer them no bs pure internet.
It's a very multi layered solution to a crappy situation, personally my only worry is if they are allowed to deliver. The concept is sound but I'm worried more about the implementation
Ayden Wright
nice, but the costs prob surpass buying a miner by quite a lot. i see two courses of action here: the net growing with the help of regular users AND investors that are willing to put more money into infrastructure (licences, antenas, publicity etc.)
Lucas Thomas
Yeah but once you get those infrastructure related devices you don't have to purchase them again every month while in ISPs case there's monthly taxation to cover up others expenses
Camden Diaz
Yea, depends on how you approach it. for instance, I wanna make the most of it and preparing to cash in from 2xdiy. besides reward, sharing the net in my community will pay off for what I ve lost so far. I call it even
Dylan Wright
Why you keep forgetting about KittyCash? Good $$ in a fun way if you are a gamer, amazing how much $ ppl put into it. You should move fast if you wanna get in. 25th deadline for free tabbyz
Justin Lopez
hopefully this will be a lot better than crypokitties, the prerequisites are in place: the mini games, blockchain 3.0, cool fan base. go Kitties!
Jaxson Harris
fair enough, the monthly expenses will drop sharply, yet someone will have to pay for the bulk bandwitdh
Hudson Morris
how bout NO? you delusional faggot the CEO is going to prison along with several others it will NEVER recover
Jacob Taylor
Are you talking about Synth? What did he do? Where does it say he is being arrested? Who else is being arrested? Whats with the CEO thing anyway? When did people start calling him CEO of Skycoin? There was a CNBC article of him, but that one specifically calls him a Founder. cnbc.com/2018/05/31/ceos-on-whether-cryptocurrencies-will-be-mainstream-in-2019.html Its pretty clear because the article is calling other people CEO.
Charles Phillips
Can't wait to get my miner. Sent my payment yesterday. I'm getting 650 SKY back for the rebate though. A little disappointed by that, but the antennas should be dope.
Adrian Smith
>implying shitcoin hasnt been crashing since the end of last year
