My parents have started charging me rent since I've started working, about 30-40% of my income, my older sister (24) also lives with us and is working but they don't charge her a penny.
If I move away my rent will actually cost less but I wouldnt be conveniently placed in the center of the city, and it would offend my parents to the point of them wanting nothing to do with me for the rest of my life. But like this I'm busting my ass off with work and college (that I pay for myself) and my wallet gets milked dry by my parents.
What do?

Would it be cheaper to rent your own place? Are there other perks to living at home like cooked meals (and obviously if you enjoy spending time with family)? Parents that do that are such pieces of shit but you’ve still got to do what’s best for you with the choices you’ve got.

My mother cooks 60 % of the time, other 40% I cook for the whole family. I do the housework too since she is sick and can't move too much. Having a mother thats always at home also means I don't get laid as often as I could.
If i don't pay the lock me out. I dont know why I care. They are still family.

Here's what you do: ask your parents to split your current rent costs between you and your sister. It's a perfectly reasonable request. If they don't want to do that, then find a new place to live. Whether they will split rent with your sister is a litmus test for how understanding they are. It's sad to say, but you might have to cut ties for a while, if they resent you for leaving, but it will be worth it. They currently don't respect you enough to take you seriously, but if you leave and survive just fine without them, they will come around eventually and actually respect you as a functioning adult. Time to leave the nest user

You have no obligation to pay them as an adult as long as you are not dependent on them. Sounds like they're picking favorites so fuck them unless leaving the center of the city is too much of a hassle, in which case just grit your teeth.
We don't have compulsory attendance at my Uni, so I dont attend lectures at the cost of 10% of my grade (making it harder for me to pass exams)
I work from 10pm to 4am every day, no days off except for the holidays, so I'm home during the afternoon and cleaning once a week and cooking 2-3 times per week isn't impossible to menage. I even have enough time left to hit the gym 6 times per week and maintain a social life. I sacrifice nighttime outings for work, obviously.
It isn't easy but I preffer being busier than most of my peers who spend 10 hours per day on instagram and getting shitfaced

Actually in my country children who earn their own living and still share a household with their parents can be taken to court and forced to contribute if the family is below the poverty line. But my family is rather well-off.

Are they poor? Do they need your money or some shit? I really don't get why they'd charge that much. When I started working my Mum began charging like $50 per week and even that broke her heart because she'd prefer me living there for free.
