Today’s Skycoin Project has deployed multiple innovations (e.g. Skycoin, Skywire, Fiber, etc) under the hands of 15 development teams worldwide. While still growing, 2018 is the year Skycoin intends to make its formal introduction to the public.

The Skycoin Project is one of the oldest crypto projects in development, and Skycoin is its first creation. Built as an infrastructure project rooted in the founding concept of decentralization, Skycoin runs on a completely different consensus algorithm, “Obelisk” or a “web-of-trust.” With Obelisk, Skycoin is not susceptible to the weaknesses of PoW and Proof-of-Stake (PoS)

>Lightning Fast
Transactions take as little as 2 seconds. With no bottlenecks or fees, Skycoin is faster than other cryptocurrencies and competitive with credit cards and Apple Pay.

>Zero Fees
Skycoin transactions cost Coin Hours, a separate currency paid to Skycoin holders for each hour they hold a coin.

>Secure
Built from the ground up in Golang, Skycoin makes full use of time-tested cryptographic standards to ensure transactions can’t be tampered with. Skycoin renders useless such threats as 51% attack, reversal, duplication, and malleability.

>Private
Skycoin’s transaction structure was designed to seamlessly adopt the CoinJoin protocol. Once integrated, Skycoin mixes transactions from multiple wallets to ensure they are indistinguishable from one another.

>Sustainable
Without the enormous computational energy requirement typical of PoW and PoS processes, Skycoin can run on a 30-watt cell phone processor.

>Incentivized
Skycoin is more than a cryptocurrency. It derives inherent value from the Skywire mesh network. Users earn and use Skycoin for providing and consuming network resources.

>Utility Backed
Skycoin’s practical application means it is backed by a real asset: bandwidth.

When $800

Got my miner now and ready to make easy money, especially as the price recovers. Feels good

tell me when payouts actually appear

say "inherent value" one more time

>he posts a bulletpointed paragraphed perfect punctuation shill
SCAMCOIN

Those aluminium extrusions and plexiglass probably cost more than the orange pis. Just saying.

when was your diy whitelisted? keep that uptime 75% for a month and wait a few days after that for a check/ payout process

>>around the 5th of the month subsequent to the testnet month with qualified uptime

If you wanna save some $$$ wait for the plug-and-play nodes
This device is dedicated to those who are on a budget anf they don't wanna bother too much with technicalities

On 5th July those who purchased officials in the 2nd round shouls have recieved their skycoin rebate. For the rewards there is a small delay, just a few day until you can get it, but check your wallet now and then, it should be sent anytime soon

Don't think waiting is an option. Ofc, will be cool when gets out, but why wasting time when already are so many wonderful Skyminers out there?

has any payment been done for any of the whitelisted miners? I plan on making a DIY one but... i m waiting for some feedback from owners

not if there s no reward for the plug and play. do you have any information on that?

I still don't see the part where users pay for bandwidth . I find this the hardest to achieve and no one's gives a straight answer to this

After all that's what makes the business model valid. Each miner should have a pool of users to pay for its rewards. Any thoughts on that?

Depends. If you can't afford it you wait. Not everyone can support the project with 1 BTC even if they get it back, not everyone is technically oriented to set up a diy, a working one (!). And this is the reason they made up the Plug&Play in the first place, for situations like mine

The CoinJoin protocol sounds interesting, keeping my identity undercover without any privacy issue. Especially, now, that in crypto world security should be the first thing on the developers list...

Obelisk is not even live and already dead. The inflation by the rewards and coinhour buy backs will tank the price further. Fucked up the consensus and distribution. Good luck user

You connect to you neighbor's network and you pay exactly the amount of bandwidth you consume. Not that hard to guess

Well you will need skyhours to use the network.

Sure, I do understand you. But you can make one DIY cheaper then the official Skyminer. Anyway, if you want to wait, sure, you can wait. I was just advising that now is a very good moment to be involved in the project, and be present from the beginning. :)

you re avoiding the question. i asked who is willing to pay for that? currently everyone in the community is connected to their ISP. how many of those are willing to make the switch? it s not like they ll give up their contracts overnight

Lol these skycoin posts are literally sky bagholders from discord/telegram organizing shills here.

How’s it feel to get scammed retards?

maidsafe makes all this obsoloete

Any Skycoin bandwidth distribution chart? Want to see how well Skycoin bandwidth is distributed in other countries.

The people who are not happy with their ISP-s. One of the main points of Skywire is to offer an alternative to monopolies like Comcast and mobile data based solutions.

Do Skycoin has a accurate bandwidth-fee chart? I want to compare the price of Skycoin to my ISP.

1 skycoin currently is eternal access to 1 device. So it's undervalued as fuck.

Jaja u here out of FOMO, u retard skyfil in denial
tell me about discord i bet u know more than everyone in here

Fear of it going from 25 dollars to 5 dollars? Lmao

Can anyone post a pic of any skycoin being received from these "miners" if I can see one payment pending I'll build one, otherwise this is just a FAT SCAM

Fucking lmao, most pajeet shit I’ve ever read in my life

A fool and his money are soon parted

chill out and just wait for a couple of days. If it was a scam then those who purchased the miners wouldn't have received their sky rebate

yeah PURCHASED MINERS

we have yet to see one transaction from mining itself. even cpus can still "mine" btc although small it's more money then these boxes produce

Don't get the fuckin FUD, who does not have anything else to do just jerk off and scam the conversations here. If you don't have anything smart to say, go back to your cave.

lol you must be poor

NKN will partner up with Silicon valley giants with their Proof of Relay model and this thing be done...

Doesn't matter if your DIY was whitelisted and you have the 75% uptime or not. They "delayed" the payouts.
