Its not just an ETH fork, its POS mixed so it can swtich to any successfull chain when it wants. ICON can't AION wants to create a cisco like enterprise.

AION. AION has transitioned from a for-profit enterprise called Nuco, to a non-profit foundation of 60 people, growing to 100 by year end.
The community is dedicated, with only ~20% of early investor tokens (TRS) having been sold. Very committed community members: miners who help out, etc
AION has over-achieved and delivered on all milestones; delivered mainnet early, token bridge alpha, all while keeping their heads down about it.
ICON delayed their mainnet once.. then they were pushed by the impatient community to release a mainnet that wasn't even ready. It was pushing wayyy less tx's and blocks than AION's TESTNET!
Then they delayed the token swap.. Anyway, ICON sucks at keeping milestones. Dumped all my ICX months ago.
Yeah, that is what i was thinking as well. AION has very less hype and they keep delivering. ICX is way overhyped as hasnt delivered shit yet
