is the the legendary portuguese empirebuilding?

I have no clue. there are so many idiots in academia. Let me know if you ever track them down and get the info out of them.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupi_people#Race-mixing_and_Cunhadismo
>When the Portuguese explorers arrived in Brazil in the 16th century, the Tupi were the first Amerindian group to have contact with them. Soon, a process of miscegenation between Portuguese settlers and indigenous women started. The Portuguese colonists rarely brought women, making the Indian women the "breeding matrix of the Brazilian people".[3] When the first Europeans arrived, the phenomenon of "cunhadismo" (from Portuguese cunhado, "brother in law") began to spread by the colony. Cunhadismo was an old Indian tradition of incorporating strangers to their community. The Indians offered the Portuguese an Indian girl as wife. Once he agreed, he formed a bond of kinship with all the Indians of the tribe. Polygyny, a common practice among South American Indians, was quickly adopted by European settlers. This way, a single European man could have dozens of Indian wives (temericós).[3]
>Cunhadismo was used as recruitment of labour. The Portuguese could have many temericós and thus a huge number of Indian relatives who were induced to work for him, especially to cut pau-brasil and take it to the ships on the coast. In the process, a large mixed-race (mameluco) population was formed, which in fact occupied Brazil. Without the practice of cunhadismo, the Portuguese colonization was impractical. The number of Portuguese men in Brazil was very small and Portuguese women were even fewer in number. The proliferation of mixed-race people in the wombs of Indian women provided for the occupation of the territory and the consolidation of the Portuguese presence in the region.[3]

I just want to cultivate Frankincense, Myrrh, and Agarwood. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

based and redpilled
why not cultivate southern botanicals you can use as incense
also grow yaupon hollies for tea

dumb sisterfuckers

ty massa

stop watching porn

Because it would free us from importing such fragrances from other countries and the value of those extends way past incense. It shouldn't be this or that. I think if one could grow the southern botanical, they should try for the others. The only issue is that the above mentioned are really hard to grow for various reason in the US.

I posted like maybe Friday night as Spartanburg but I just updated my flags since I'm back in NC for college.

Things are going aight, classes are fine, my friends and I are all starting to lift which is also really cool. I'm stressed right now because I'm starting to feel the pressure of finding something to do over the summer, but otherwise I'm doing well. I'll be in France next semester too which is super exciting.

When are you guys gonna secede?

Attached: 1494198360036.png (657x527, 13K)

/dixie/ is in a state of continuous flux-like secession that is imperceptible to yanks
this is what grants us power

>I'll be in France next semester too which is super exciting.
Neat. Say hi to Herault and Var while you're there.
>When are you guys gonna secede?
In like a year depending on which party wins the federal election. Do we have the southroners blessing?

That's true, but secessionism in Alberta is actually growing

I might if I think my French has gotten good enough to travel alone. You also have a southron's blessing to secede, mostly because I want to see Canada collapse. Alberta has a legitimate case to secede and legal precedent that will back up a referendum. I say go for it because there are objective benefits. We'll welcome you as the 51st state.

Attached: 1546128644303.jpg (1440x1080, 286K)

I'd rather just cut Canada in half and take everything from Manitoba westward desu, though joining the states wouldn't be a bad option either. The powers that be have been screwing us all over and using us for resources without giving anything back since the railroad went up.

Attached: olemiss.png (920x511, 432K)

Canada is so geographically split that there's really no other option beyond an Ottawa/Quebec/Maritimes rump state and the western provinces being part of the US. It's easier for Alberta to join the US than go it alone.
Suck my dick it's a nice town. It's a nice town because it's my hometown.
I'll be at Tours studying at the Institut de Touraine.

>it's a nice town

>It's easier for Alberta to join the US than go it alone.
True. That's why I like the idea of greater western secession. I like America and it probably makes more economic sense to join up, but it seems like we'd be forfeiting a part of our culture by doing so.

>Tours

Never been there but it looks like a comfy town, and in the heart of a region that is regarded as cornerstone to the French identity

Pretty far from Hérault for Europoor scale but if you travel south do tell

Have you ever been to Europe at all before ?

Attached: Tours 2.jpg (1600x860, 316K)

AAAAAAAA why are French towns so lovely

Listen here, It's my hometown so I like it.
I mean, I kind of agree, but Alberta is already more economically integrated with the States than it is with the rest of Canada (the same is true for almost every province). The benefits of joining might be too good to just pass up.
I've spent a little time in Paris, London, Florence, and Rome, but I've never lived in Europe. Hopefully my French is good enough to survive.

Because keeping them lovely brings BIG tourist money
Also we wuz western Euros n sheit

Attached: Gourdon 2.jpg (1680x1050, 574K)

Tours is a quiter city than all of those but still you have a bit of experience in foreign places
Well if your French isn't good enough it'll just evolve into something better assuming you aren't too autistic and will interact with French people

Quieter

desu western canada would probably be able to make it if they immediately entered a free trade agreement with the US. you'd have to get BC to stop being faggots and allow you to ship through vancouver but other than that you'd be fine

what would you call western canada anyway?

I have quite a bit of experience living internationally in Asia but I was young and always could get by with English. I'll be with a host family so unless my autism is extra powerful I should pick up a lot of French.

It's way easier to pipe the oil south into the states than across the mountains to BC.

i didn't say oil, they already pipe theirs to texan refineries. BC would probably just crack down on trade for environmental reasons as soon as they went independent

Other trade would also be a bottleneck. there's very little in the way of roads connecting the eastern and western parts of Canada.

i was amazed in germay when we drove to some remote place with maybe 10 people living nearly and the roads were silky-smooth, better than in the city
must be a bliss to ride this path.

in rural (sub-ural) russia you mostly see feral cars bathing in the rivers, untouched by mandmade asphalt paving
