First of all Chinese (mainland) is a mutilated language that we can't read. Simplified characters are cancer.
Secondly, I don't know about Korea, but we still learn Classical Chinese.

Also I think even Koreans still learn Chinese characters in grade school. I believe they memorize 2,000 characters or so. They forget pretty quickly though.

It's my understanding that 新字体 in Japan wasn't "simplified as much" and they also simplified less characters in total than China.
