the Gripen GN is much cheaper and we are buying the jet and the tech, Brasil became part of the project. The plane had never flew when we bought it. We have full access of all the systems, many things of the F35 are american exclusive, you can't touch their sofware and they manteir surleivance to avoid copying.

In resume, F35 is an over exepencive meme, we would bought Rafale or the F18, but Saab cut the better deal actually inviting Embraer to finish developing the plane with then.

Later Russia offered a similar deal with their Su-57, but they were too late.
