They stole them from us during the winter war, the reason being that russian sharpshooters were doing poorly compared to finnish ones due to lack of eyes so the soviet goverment decided to take action and on the 21st of July 1947 a stealth operation was carried out by the most elite soviet squad in existance called cпящий мeдвeдь or "Sleeping Bear" where the eyes of the whole finnish population would be switched out with rocks and the finnish eyes put on russian soldiers to improve their aim. As a result russia won WW2 and is the superpower we know today.

Because some russians are finno-ugric mutts. Also, at winter war ukrainians aka hohols were fighting against finns.
