If you're all about merging countries, why not merge the nords into one?

You end up with something that feels very anchored in the east, so those far off Atlantic possessions look out of place. Maybe Iceland can be independent and the UK can absorb the Faeroe islands.

I had a reasoning behind it. As your capital would probably be Copenhagen, I thought that land would be better in Swedish hands for the sake of the Sami people. I'm not too convinced that Copenhagen are gonna treat them fairly at all.

Not sure how it's like in Sweden but the vast majority up there are Norwegians, not sami people. They are like 20k and Norwegians are like 400k up there. I improved the map a little bit more, because I see that the finns have some of our lands too. And while we're at it, why should us nords have all the fun? France want some baltic ports too, same with spain. Byzantine too actually. And germany prolly wants some mediterranean ports. This is starting to look very good. You're definitely on to something.
