Be like 2 times more diverse than Europe

>be like 2 times more diverse than Europe
>Make it into one country
Who thought this would work out?

Blame the Maurya empire

Do muslim Indians hate Pakis?

But it works.

>be like 2 times more diverse than Europe

>europe has whites and non whites
>india has non whites
europe is 2 times more diverse than india

Many do, some are apathetic, others like them in secret.

>europe has whites and non whites

I mean the EU kind of works

Wow very based upvoted my fellow magapede

It didn’t work, technically. Pakistan split from India almost immediately and then Bangladesh split from Pakistan.

Would've been nice if India was an Indian Union or South Asian Union like EU instead of a singular country.
Seems fitting.

>be like 2 times more diverse than Europe
No, not really, unless for you France is only French, Germany is only German, Sweden is only Swedish, which it isn't

That would just make you weaker overall and Pakistan would be treating your regions like their little bitch. Your country is literally the last hope for democracy right now. Poo in loo memes aside it's literally India or China who will run the world in the future and I rather have a bunch of street shitting indians than disgusting chink cockroaches

What do you mean ? India has many subgroups within their states too

India is diverse, yes, VERY diverse for a unified country, but saying it is 2 times more diverse than Europe, a whole continent, is far fetched

Based and bharatpilled

I was implying that in the alternate timeline Pakistan and Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan would be a part of this union as well.
Prior to a few years before independence, there wasn't that much of a movement for separation. Gandhi made a few controversial comments fueling the whole issue and ultimately separation occurred.
In this alternate timeline, that would never have happened. Balkanisation would occur on ethnolinguistic groups much like the way states exist in India and Pakistan today.
There would be minimally restricted movement between various balkanized nations and a common army. There would also be surplus trade.
Decentralisation this way means that laundering and corruption at the central level wouldn't have affected us this way and that the region would probably be more developed today.

Yes maybe not but then again Indians are more diverse in religion and a large amount of them speak languages from different family tress

I see where you're going but I don't see that union holding together with a Hindi majority ruling over the muslim minority. I'm glad India is united and hope you guys can overcome political and economic hurdles over the next 30+ years because I really like speaking english and you guys actually have good food (in every region)

Agree to disagree desu
Within your own racial group, I would say Europe has the highest diversity.
But India probably has more ethnic diversity as in having different races.

Why would it be a rule though? Like I said, it'd be divided on the basis of ethnolinguistic groups so muslim dominated areas would probably be their own country, I think.
Besides, most of the hatred that Indians and Pakistanis Harbor against each other today is a result of that abysmal partitioning that the British did leading to massive violence by and against people who were trying to cross borders.

Anyways, yes I kind of hope that we will be able to overcome our economic hurdles anyways, thank you for your comments

>it'd be divided on the basis of ethnolinguistic groups so muslim dominated areas would probably be their own country, I think.

It's nice in theory and is a good concept but in practice it's always more complicated. Short term India would have been better as a union you're describing but long term you'll be able to project more power globally which is what's important for the greater good of the world.

It worked out for multiple empires across 4k years.

India will seperate or effectively lose a lot of it’s federal power in the future tbqh famalam

No, it won't. There will be constant infighting.

Also, all of Europe has a single dominant religion. If there are multiple Muslim majority countries and Hindu majority countries, there will be constant infighting and outside forces can easily take advantage of it.

If India should learn anything from its history it is India becomes pathetically weak when divided.

>Implying india was united before Brits
Yikes
>Inb4 muh mayuran and mughal empire
They didn't integrate everyone into their empire , south and east india was independent

>Who thought this would work out?
Does it really though?

Everyone has been saying that for the past 70 years just like how they've been saying China will collapse. If they didn't balkanize during turbulent times in the latter half of the 20th century, they won't balkanize now. The government will never let it happen and last I checked, India is one of the most patriotic countries in the world, which helps bind all of them together.
They're doing fine considering their challenges, their colonial history and license raj.

absolute state of new worlders

You may call it India or something else, but the fact is everything below the Himalayas always had a distinct culture which is more similar among themselves than with the outside world.

The fact that many people could form empires stretching multiple linguo ethnic groups without major internal rebellions proves what I am saying.

Can anyone give a brainlet burger a basic summary of Indian history before the British?

No it's too complex, go read the wikipedia article if you want a basic overview

Pretty much just centuries of fighting off muslim hordes and random empires from time to time. Lots of trading and the caste system leading to rampant inequality (that was kind of normal then anyways). There's honestly to much shit to even get started, there's so many different culture groups and languages there and most of them were treated like garbage by the wealthier classes.

True but keep in mind that all these are separate empires living siDe by side
Not a SINGLE nation
Mughal and Marathas existed in the same timeline so did Vijaynagara empire and Ahom

So? Doesn't disprove what I am saying.

Indians are not that dissimilar that there should be multiple countries. A single Federation with a single military, economy, taxes would be best for India. Which is not too different from what India has right now. Maybe little more distribution of powers might not hurt anyone.
