How do you accidentally fire a cannon

>turns the eletronics on to check stuff
>push the wrong button

Simple as.

it's only a press of a button, he could have just hit it accidently, why is this even a question

>cannons are fired by buttons

>Ground arm and master arm need to be switched on
>Mechanic didn't know there's live rounds
He was playing a fool I bet.

why does singapore have a crescent moon on their flag, you all aren't muslim?

We are not sinic, we are ISLAMIC.

Please, prove us wrong instead of posting memes.

there are two switches to power the weapon systems but the firing is activated on the stick

You could have done a 3 second Google search you dumb fucking Brazilimonkey spastic piece of shit.

*global boker face*

It's easy, all you have to do is, uh
>have the Master Arm set to on, which has zero purpose on the ground besides MAYBE being needed for some avionics snags
>have the weapon techs somehow forget to check the chamber when emptying the fucking cannon
>have a non-functional "weight-on-wheels" switch which I guarantee you every fighter jet has
>have the weapon selected in some kind of air-to-ground or air-to-air master mode
>fully depress the trigger, something I imagine has a lot of resistance and a long throw
I've never worked on a F-16 myself, but I seriously doubt it would have any less than 3 layers of safety to stop this from happening, if it's like any other military aircraft. This is a criminal level of negligence if it isn't deliberate sabotage. Someone should invade Belgium right now, they aren't competent enough to stop you.
t. Hornet tech

You literally have to press a giant fucking "Air to ground/Air to air" button on the F-16 in order to be able to fire the cannon. This is truly something.

this is what happens when you don't follow the TO

>artillery gun
>on a plane
the vulcan is a rotary machine gun, you literal brainlet

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M61_Vulcan

he was actually repairing the damn thing so he could have easily cut through that order of events just because of whatever he was doing

When I was in the chair force, some idiot activated the landing gear switch and dropped the A-10 on the runway.
Good times

having a live ammo in a plane you are doing maintenance on is a big no-no
the real question here should be why the plane was left loaded

So this is what happens when you rely on the US for your defence for so long...
