I've been speaking English for the past 10 years and I use it every single day of my life...

I've been speaking English for the past 10 years and I use it every single day of my life, but I'm such a fucking autist that I've never actually used it to speak to another human being. You see, I don't usually tell people that I speak English and I don't encounter that many gringos on my day to day life, so I just have no experience talking in the language.
I'm currently looking for a job and me being to speak English could be the difference between keep being a loser, and leaving my parent's house.
The problem is that when I speak English to myself I sometimes sound like a stereotypical Mexican and other times I can imitate english accent perfectly (to my own ears at least).

TL;DR: How do I improve my spoken english?

time for vocaroo

“Family. Religion. Friendship. These are the three demons you must slay if you wish to succeed in business.”

find some english movies with subtitles. read out loud what they say, as they say it. eventually you'll pick up the accent.

>I sometimes sound like a stereotypical Mexican
Nothing wrong. Mexican accents work in your favour.

If you want to speak without your accent, watch Britbong movies and practice using your lower lips to speak like they do.

Some people will always have an accent and that's fine. Salma Hayek has lived in the US most of her life and she has a very thick Mexican accent.

go back

curious have you ever seen a latina over in bulgaria?

Only absolute freaks of nature ever lose their accent, even people who have lived in anglo countries for decades you can tell they're foriengers pretty instantly. But that's fine nobody really cares about your accent of they can understand you.

You just need to get in the habit of speaking it more. Try to listen to native English speakers a lot too, if you can, it helps you pick up their accent. Plus people will know you are Mexican and just accept that you have a Mexican accent, don't worry about it too much.

im sort of the opposite of outgoing so
but i have seen niggers in sofia

>but i have seen niggers in sofia
You see niggers everywhere except antartica.

Is her accent ok? She's Eiza González, Mexican actress:

actors can do the accent better because thats their job. It sounds pretty native but the female west coast american accent she went for gives me the absolute shits.

wow she has a very American accent

>How do I improve my spoken english?
by posting a vocaroo shot first?

A lot of people would just assume she's a native speaker. She sounds a bit "off" if you really listen but nobody really cares.

What about American scientifics there?

Speak out loud often. Watch English movies and videos, and try to imitate their words.

Nobody would care about your accent in real life imo. If some random Mexican came up to me and started talking in English I would be delighted, learning languages is always a difficult process and most reasonable people recognise that. Consider getting a tutor or find a gringo person you can speak with frequently, if not maybe try listening to English radio stations or play on game servers with Americans or something.

Yet another JF that thinks he has to 'learn' another accent. What's wrong with sounding like a stereotypical Mexican if you are a Mexican??

Accent matters. I can't stand Indian accent. It fucking mangle my neurons
