Usually, we say that the north drink beer, and south drink wine.
But each regions has its own specialty, made with the fruits or plants they have.

It's a big part of life for a lot of people, but apparently kidd nowadays are drinking less. Still, the default 'thing to do' with friends is go to the pub for a out 95% of the population. Plus it's a big part of my work life too (I work in insurance)

People either babysit 2 drinks the entire night or get totally shitfaced and vomit.

Drinking culture here is pretty alright I guess
Most start drinking in high school, I think the giant house party is a big American stereotype that's pretty true. Everyone goes crazy for drinking in high school/college, then either become alcoholics or just mellow out but still binge every once in awhile

Stupid. People pretend to be absolutists thruought the whole week, shunning even the one beer for dinner.
Come Friday and Saturday they go all out before 8 o'clock and vomit by 11, off to bed and its Monday

Pretty good. People here knows how to drink and the objective is to socialise, not to get shit-faced. In general, romance-countries are pretty alpha drinkers.

I find it extremely boring, it's depressing just having a few drinks a night when you want a big night out with all your friends. Everywhere shuts early and everywhere is very sensible compared to here, especially in Spain. I was shocked at how dull it was

Meh, I prefer to drink alone while playing vidya or lurking. I rarely drink with other people.

We have a pretty good culture of beer and pubs (and also wine cellars in Moravia).

On the other hand, excessive drinking is considered normal. Beer is in general cheaper than soft drinks (or literally water) in most restaurants. So you don’t have much alternatives when you go out with friends. And you’re a wierdo if you don’t drink (only acceptable exceptions are if you’re driving that night or if you take some medicine).

Not everyone drink to get drunk.
